Question Can an Infiniti DS special order Q50s in 6MT?

So as we know NA market doesn't offer 6MT for new infinitis any more. But could an Infiniti DS special order one?

I'm asking this because I've seen other DS from other brands doing this, special ordering cars.

Thanks!

Ps: this is an example of a Q50 2.2d in 6MT

I highly doubt it.

I'm sure the EPA would need to run the car through fuel economy testing, which makes a one off totally cost prohibitive.

You don't want that Q50 anyway. It's too soft around the edges. Seems like the lines were rounded off or something. Reminds me of a Maxima or something.

No. They can only order what is available to them. Bat this time a manual transmission isn't even an option.

I never thought about it like that. But you're right, the Q50 body really should have been the new Maxima. Even though the 8th Gen Maxima is a very rewarding car for its class, the overall design is a hot mess. The Q50 is so much more clean as an upscale version of the Mazda 6.

But IMO it's a lousy progression from the G.

If the rear end of the Q50 was just aggressive as the front end, and it had came out with the new VR30 twin turbo, mated to a 6MT, it would have been the proper evolution to the G. THATS the car that should have came out in 2014.

I completely agree.

Draigon is comparing a G37xS to his new Q50S AWD, and in that comparison the new Q is the better car, although stylistically unremarkable.

While I long for a 6MT, I'm happy the Q50 comes with a conventional planetary automatic rather than a CVT.

Sorry bud, but in the U.S. Infiniti/Nissan can only order cars the way they are available online for that market.

Here's to me hoping that when the next gen Z comes out, they finally just give in and chuck in a bunch of left over Z transmissions into the Q cars

Yes, I am...
In my opinion, I do find the lines on the Q50S to be quite beautiful and I wished that the rear was better thought out compared to the front.

After owning the Q50S AWD, I find that it has definitely been a worthy upgrade to the G37xS...maybe not as so for the G37S with 6spd manual.

The perfect solution would have been the Q50S Red Sport with manual transmission...a true 4DSC!

No argument here. That new 400hp TT will probably be pretty impressive. More so in a new Z with a proper transmission... even a DCT.

I honestly love the way the Q50 looks. They are pretty eye catching and with a lower valance could be a real beauty around every corner of the car. The interior is much nicer and the ride comfort is better than the G37.

There are options around this dilemma.

1) find a wrecked coupe and swap transmissions
2) buy a coupe and "stretch" it into a 4dr
3) wait 25 years which removes all import restrictions from cars coming into the states and just buy one from the country with the best exchange rates.
