My new G

Well we pulled the trigger and bought an 2009 Infiniti G37X. More pictures to come. So what should the first mod be that I consider?

New shoes for you and the car

You will have to decide if you're more worried about power or looks. If it's looks tint, rims, drop and front lip.

If it's power & handling I'd suggest sway bars, high flow cats, air movers and tune. You are limited to options due to the AWD system so keep that in mind moving forward.

A tune up. Make sure it is performing to OEM specs. Check fluids, serpentine belt, condition of battery, factory air filters, Cabin filter, brake pads, you get the idea. I would do the belt as mine with 45k was looking rough.
Happy Modding!

Awesome! Actually had these checked before purchase and we are all good! It was owned by an elderly lady and she took it in for routine maintaince and drove it around every now and then. Its in great shape and looks brand new. The only blemish that I could find was some wear on the plastic trim on the trim near the steering wheel controls. Apparently the vender Infiniti used to get them from didn't use a very resistant finish. Going to try to replace those plastic pieces.

What brand tires are on your G right now? A simple change of tires from a hard compound that get's long life to a softer summer tire (if you can use them year round) will really allow you to get much more out of your G. If you must have winter tires for a few months then use your stock 17" wheels for winter tires and look in to a set of 18s that are a bit wider such as a 9" wheel and run summer tires the rest of the year.

My current tires are brand new Yokohama all season tires (YK 580). I will look into that thanks for the heads up. In NC i could probably get away w/ summer tires year round due to the pretty moderate weather. Any suggestion on who makes the best/affordable sway bars?

Hotchkiss seems to be the most common, they have adjustments F&R and also have zerk fitted bushings, so keeping them lubed is easy. Eibach & Whiteline are also good products.

I'd keep your current wheel/tire setup for the cold months then when your budget allows, look in to some wider 18s w/ summer tires for the rest of the year. Nice to have your winter set for running in the crud and not messing up your better set

Yeah the trick is picking a set up I like. I've seen some beautiful cars on here which has definitely helped. I would love a new exhaust to make the roar of the car even more audible.

Yeah thanks for the suggestion guys. Think im going to do the following:

1. Tint w/ 35 in front 20 in back

2. New wheels, a friend who is a mechanic and is going to help w/ installation of this stuff recommends SportMax

3. Sway Bars

4. Exhaust. He works on exhausts daily so knows how to make the best of the stock exhaust.

Maybe Dunlop SportMax tires

OP post up in the wheel folder for specific questions, we've set up a bunch of AWD setups and there's some ideas here for starters
