Help! Car stuck in ACC mode?

Car warning keeps beeping and keys won't lock or unlock car. Radio doesn't turn on and keys fobs have newer batteries. Can't get my car to turn over. Should I disconnect the battery? I got a new battery in Jan 2015.

I was gonna suggest disconnecting the battery for 24 hours to completely drain the charging system. Hope that works...

Thanks! Disconnected negative terminal for 30 min and it worked. May have been because I left my auto headlights on?

Could be, but I've never had that happen to my G. I bought it brand new in 2011.

I never turn my headlights off of auto, it definitely shouldn't cause that.

It shouldn't have been the headlights, but my car has exhibited strange behavior before the battery has died on me before. I left the headlights on after the car was turned off once, and then next time I went to start the car it completely locked up. Such as nothing in the car responding (door locks, key fob, etc) and the ignition not cranking.

I ended up jumping the car and having weak starts that whole week before being able to replace it. I'm guessing it was the low voltage from a weak battery in my case, maybe it is for you as well.

Thanks si_driver! Did your VIN qualify and was a simple software update fix the issue? It looks like my VIN falls in their range so I will bring it in next time I get an oil change. Didn't think it was the battery since Infiniti put in a new one in Jan of this year.

I have did not fix it yet.

As the dealer is giving me a hard time already when I reported it.

Even though it has happened a couple of time before I had my remote starter installed they are now saying that they have to test everything and they are thinking that my remote starter may be causing the issue etc..

It's probably a 5 min. software load. And they are making a big deal out of it.

If Nissan found a software glitch and is fixing it by updating software I don't know why the dealer would be even thinking it's remote starter related.

My vin falls within their numbers.

I reported the problem before my warranty expired but they said they never heard of it even though the fix has been available for over 3 years.

I don't want to pay for it myself now. but if they will give me a hard time about, I may just not do it at all. Worst case scenario I can just disconnect the battery when it happens again.

Has anyone else had this problem of the car locking up upon start? If so, did the dealer do a software update per the TSB? My car is out of basic warranty so I assume they would charge around 200 to fix it, I am just debating if it is worth the fix.

Very few cars were affected by this problem. Plus it doesn't happen very often therefore, I don't think there are many people here that had this problem.

The TSB says it's 0.7 hours to fix (apply the software update).

Not sure what Infiniti charges per hours, would think about $140.. so 0.7 hours would be about $100 tops.

BTW, this update shouldn't take any longer than 10 minutes.

0.7 frt in the tsb is warranty payment time allotted to the dealer when they file the warranty claim to get paid. if your car is out of warranty and if you need the tsb flash update you will be charged for the standard 1.0 or 1.5 hr rate at whatever the dealer charges a hour. in addition some flash updates can be fast and easy, every manufacturer is different. since i am not familiar with nissan's flash update process i have no idea whether or not their techs have to perform scn and cvn coding after the flash. if you had to do scn and cvn coding then the whole entire process can take 40-60 minutes.
