I had a bumper shipped via Greyhound and will have to pick it up and was just wondering if anyone has transported a front bumper in their G, if it's even possible. I realize some of it would probably be sticking out one of the windows...has this been done?

Are you planning on having it repainted? If not, then wrapping it isn't so important (other than to prevent damage to seats or other areas of the car).

Years ago, in the dead of winter some drunk clipped my camaro while it was parked in the driveway. Eventually the insurance paid. I opted to do as much of the repair myself and pocket the rest. Found a bumper on CL over in southbend, IN. It was only about a hundred miles away and was cheaper to pick up than have it shipped. Needless to say, it was an interesting drive back with the bumper wedged in.

don't think I'm planning on painting the one that I'm picking up but probably the one that is on my car now, if that makes sense.

so can you roll the windows up with the bumper inside the car?

Need a friend with a pickup :-)

In fact, you can rent a pickup from Home Depot for pretty cheap.

I brought a fiberglass bumper back from a tuning shop in Japan when I was still in the USAF. Riding the subway with it got me looks. Was stashed on military plane, so no issues there. Customs rolled their eyes at me and said 'whatever'. Biggest problem was with Production Supervisor (who drove out to pick up the flying crew chiefs on return to home airbase) giving me shiat about abusing the 'excess baggage allowed' rule.
