Since the G37 is history, what are you looking at for your next car?

Lego, just go drive the car. You too, OP.
My last Camaro test-drive was when the 5th Gen was released, and I thought I really wanted the SS 6MT. All it took was 10 minutes of seat time to make all that anticipation fade away into huge disappointment. Ditto on the Stang. These are both very crude cars, with tacky form-over-function priorities that appeal mostly to younger people... and since I'm getting older every day, it's why I said you can't go back.
It's just an opinion, man. Agree, disagree, whatever.

Absolutely. They are head-turners. I *still* have an emotional reaction when I see the Camaro, and the Challenger too, for that matter. Actually, more so with the Challenger, and less so with the Mustang.
But only from a distance.
It's like the hot girl you see across the bar, who seems kind of weird when you approach her, and then nothing but regrets the morning after.
If I were in the OP's position, I'd be thinking of a used Aston Martin, not a new Z/28. And let's admit it, guys, I'm getting closer to the OP's position in life with each passing year. A decade or so from now, I could be asking this very same question.

My own $.02. Purely aesthetics.
IMO, as I'm well into the 50+ stage of life, I think I would look ridiculous in a Camaro, 'stang, or anything of that ilk. Including such things as a WRX or STi.
I'm a grown-up who likes performance and a bit of coddling. No boy-racer for me.
I'll leave aside any references to the new Camaro promotion that includes a starter gold-chain set and a silk shirt.

I am leaning towards an F80 M3, however I do really like the looks of the new Jaguar XE-S and the Maserati Ghibli Q4S. My G is going to stick around for a while longer and eventually replace my 4runner as a daily.

He's talking close to $100k and you're bringing up a Chevy? Dude the SS is a poor man's Camaro Zl1 with less style and less handling. Pass.
If you're sniffing anywhere near $100k, you need to seriously consider a GTR, Camaro Z28 or a C7 Corvette if you're looking for style, power and handling. If you're looking for more creature comforts plus power / handling I would highly suggest E63 AMG, M5 or a Audi S7.

The newer Jag's are really a thing of beauty. They drive well, look amazing, and make some really nice sounds. The XE-S is one car that I keep looking at and thinking that I truly could enjoy it without the need to modify. Plus it will be around 55k fully loaded and with Jag's resale, would be a great buy a year later. For now though the G is getting FA coil overs and I am thinking of RHFC and a tune just for some nicer driveability with the 7AT.

This summer, I test drove the new Mustang GT 6MT (with the mid-range rear gears). It was very noticeably faster than my lightly modded G. However, it was also crude and tacky in so many ways I can't begin to list. Cars like this and the Camaro... unless the OP values musclecar considerations, there's just no going back to your youth. Move forward, not backwards.
OP, I'm 51, and will be owning my G for at least another 4-5 years, so the consideration of my next car (prior to old-man basic transportation) is something I think about from time to time, too. Personally, I'm pretty serious about the Jaguar F-Type S. However, and in my opinion, Jag way overvalues their beautiful F-Type. So in so far as my plans go, I'm targeting a used Jag in my future, in the hopes of appropriate depreciation.
And like you, the other car that has potential for my list is the new Q60.
A G37 with a supercharger as a winter car? Kind of hard to process that, but OK. Wow.

It was the new gen Stang, 6MT with the 3.73 Gears. Yes, it's more refined than the previous gen, but I stand by my assessment.
Look, I'm done. OP, sorry for the side-track. I should have realized when you express a neg opinion on an iconic car, it can get out of hand.

I still like it and I would lose too much on a trade. It's AWD, so it will be great for the roads here in Omaha! In retrospect, I wish I didn't put the blower on. I would trade it in then. I don't like driving RWD in the snow. It's fun, but not when I'm trying to get somewhere.

Beautiful car in person... check the attached pics. My G is definitely faster though. This wasn't the supercharged version, but it's the "L" which is the longer one. Definitely the one I'd go with. Can't really speak for the quality of the suspension and motor over time. I'd guess a lot of it is a Ford underneath the shell, but luxury wise, it's a beaut. Oh, and brakes aren't cheap to replace on it lol... that's why it was in the shop.

The 2014 is pretty much the same interior layout and chassis since 2005. I guess if the Mustang is crude, then my G is too as it has more hard plastics and lesser quality materials inside. I own a Mustang and G btw
To get back on topic, I'd go German. I'd look at a 335i or S4, both of which respond very well to simple mods.
