Looks like there are more black 6speeds than I thought and you guys are right it just about how far I am willing to travel or have it shipped

Not sure how much I want to spend and will try to get one with low mileage, but my main concern is if these cars burn A LOT OF oil

The VQ35DE had that problem. Not so much in the VQ37HR.

the oil consumption issue was most prevalent with the '05-'06 "rev-up" VQ35. this was found in 6MT G35 coupes and sedans as well as 350Z of that era. the regular DE was not problematic, nor is the 37HR. sure, there may be the odd report of oil consumption, but no more so than with any otehr make/model of vehicle.

Er, no. The DE was used in the 5.5 Gen Maxima (2002-2003), and was absolutely notorious for eating oil. Based on the OP's concerns, I assume the same in the early G35, but honestly don't know. Same engine, different configuration, different car.

Either way, the OP needn't bother too much about oil consumption in the G37.

Yea my G is a 04 6mt non revup and it burns just as much as the 05-06 rev ups...I don't even change my oil anymore I just add oil when it's low and change the filter once in a while

Glad you guys don't have any oil issues with the G37

Not sure why you guys make it seem like he's searching for a unicorn or Big Foot. LoL. When I bought mine a couple years ago, I had a choice of 3 6MT sedans from a nearby dealer. Below are links of 2 great options and both are within 100 miles from you. Let us know which one you buy.

I suggest you check carmax daily. thats how I sourced mine.

Had to pay bunch to ship it to my local car max - but was still a much better deal than any dealer was willing to do.

Because Racecar. And because 4 years ago it was like searching for Bigfoot.

If the OP is in Connecticut, then that one in Massapequa sure looks like a good fit. Good find.

I got my car new, but the dealer found 3 on the east coast, all black on black. I would have preferred a different color, but not at the expense of a 6MT.

My car burns a little oil, but I check the level every weekend and add as necessary. It's never been more than a quart per oil change.

Good luck finding your 6MT

All the unicorns must be gathered in other parts of the country. I bet CA and Texas - warmer climates - probably have a lot to choose from.

OK so 2 years later I decided to grab a black on black 6speed sedan off craigslist. I was checking cars and autotrader . com daily and mostly everything was overpriced and very far away. I started checking craigslist and have to scroll through hundreds of listings just to find a STOCK black on black 6 speed sedan for $12000 only 2 hours away from me. Just wanted to post that to give hope to anyone else that may be looking for the same car. Be creative with your craigslist searching "infiniti manual" "infiniti standard" etc. good luck
