One time I lost my cell phone. It was a Samsung Blade flip phone circa 2005, a very choice phone in the day. Searched my home, office, every pocket on every item of clothing I owned. It just was nowhere. Finally decided it was lost forever and replaced it.

YEARS later, I'm giving my car a thorough cleaning inside and out, and I slide the passenger seat forward to vacuum out underneath. To my astonishment, what pops out onto the rear floorboard before my eyes but my long lost Samsung Blade. Still had all the pictures on it. I'd just been driving it around all over the place the whole damn time.

Haha wow, and here I was thinking "These ridiculous things ONLY happen to me"

Thanks for following up - I'm glad that you found it!

Credit cards have a habit of slipping through between the seat and center console.

Dude I auto cross and lost my key in the car. Took me a whole day but eventually I found it in the air duct vent underneath my drivers seat shoved all the way up there. A real big wow moment

As an autoxer , you should know better. No loose items in the vehicle. I'll pretend I didn't read the first sentence. Carry on.

Yesterday, after having read this thread title, I did the exact same thing.I drove my step-daughter to a doctors appointment and couldn't find the key fob, I almost lost my mind. Two hours later, I found it sitting in the right side drivers seat rail pretty much camouflaged. I just had to shake my head and wonder if I had not seen the post, would it have happened....

This thread addresses precisely why I have this set-up:

The old fob-on-the-fob trick. I nearly sent the INFINITI fob through the washing machine without the extra....bulk? IDK

Isn't the whole idea of the smart key for it to never leave your pocket? Knock on wood, the only times I've had to search for it was when it wasn't in my pocket

Lol I suck at life bro. I actually lost my key 3 times that day. The sweat pants I had on pockets are shallow so my key loves to slip out of them. This weekend I'll try to follow the rule all the way

Try the holder for your sunglasses while you're on the track. Great spot for mine.
