New G37 owner - wind noise question

Hi all,

Just bought a 2013 G37x with not many miles on it. Absolutely love the car, with the exception of a possible wind noise issue.

The wind noise on the driver side window is bad, particularly at highway speeds. If it's windy out? It pretty much sounds like the window is cracked open.

Brought it to the dealer (car only has 11k miles on it, tons of warranty left), they agreed there was an issue, and replaced the weather stripping.

Well... Now, the wind noise problem persists, and they did such a crap job I hear sticky sounding noises of the weather stripping pulling away from the adhesive whenever I go over rough road or bumps.

At this point, they now say they can't hear the issue and are washing their hands.

Rather than escalate, I ordered a cheap tube of 3M weather stripping adhesive that should fix the poor job they did. But my question to you folks is how bad is the wind noise in your cars? I've noticed that overall this car is not as refined as my Altima/Maxima were (the a/c compressor causes the car to shake a bit at idle), and I'm wondering if maybe I'm expecting too much out of an entry level luxury car.

Thoughts?

One other dumb question - is there really no compass on this car? I can't find one anywhere. It's a G37x, with everything except the sport package. It has the Homelink rearview mirror, but no compass in it like my Altima had. Thanks all!

If you have the NAV. The only compass is when you have the map up AFAIK

I have a weird whistle sound that just started in the upper right-hand side of the windshield. I only hear it at about 90 mph on the highway.

That being said, I'm not sure I regularly got it up to 90mph before I got my new Escort Max 2, so it may have been happening since I got it last Halloween.

Mine happens when I'm on the highway. I don't think much of it anymore. It is what it is.

I get the whistling starting between 60 and 80 depending on wind direction. Still can't quite locate it.

A buddy of mine was discussing this with me (since he knew I just picked up an AWD sedan '12), I haven't run into this issue, but did see some other posts about it. Found this on 'search'

I'm having the same problem with my windows in my 2012 g37x coupe. I'm also getting a lot of squealing from my brakes when I first start driving. Any help would be appreciated.

No wind noise at all on my 45K mile 2011 sedan, even at high speed. Also no squeaks or rattles, which is surprising considering some of the comments I've read on this forum. Your rear view mirror is where the compass is located, in top right hand corner you'll see a little window in the glass. If it's blank, your mirror might be defective.

Yeah same issue sometimes - I just roll it down and roll it back up and it gives me a peace of mind.

I thought the seal was wearing out but seems like it's a common issue

My 2012 Sedan has been whistling from the passenger window as well when I drive above 70MPH and there's a cross wind. I'll be going through the motions with everything I've read to try and fix it because it drives me crazy!!!
