Hey guys. I have a CPO 13 G37x Sedan. Lately I've noticed that when I floor it. It takes off. Then when I get into the higher RPMS it makes a screeching noise. I've searched the forums and have my been able to find a for sure answer. I am still under warranty. I hate hearing this noise every time I want to hit the gas hard and take off a little bit. Anyone have any experience with this or if anyone can offer a solution it would be much appreciated!

 

Is it constant at higher speeds? The only thing I can think of is something with the brakes screeching..

 

Yeah it's annoyed me for a while now. My buddy I cruise with sometimes says he can hear it when I gun it. Sounds like it comes from under the hood.

 

Belts slipping and squealing due to not enough tension from the belt tensioner?

 

Mind to record a sound clip?

 

It's not the infamous VQ hiss is it? I get a small hissing noise at high RPM's (from what I've read this is common in VQ engines). It sounds almost like the car is taking a breath. I wouldn't describe it as screeching though.

Sorry to revive such an old thread.....

I have the same screech and had done some searching a couple months ago, found this thread, and at least 1-2 others. The consensus is that it is "normal", but no cause was found.

Fast forward to today, and saw this clip in an exhaust thread.... guess what I heard in the video when the RPMs got high? Yup, the same screech. (Almost sounds like a hiss in the video, but in the car it sounds like a screech).

Basically just adding this here so others can hear the noise when viewing this thread in hopes that a cause will be found eventually.

 

I hear nothing out of the ordinary, just intake and exhaust. Oh, and tire noise.

 

Listen between 0:11 - 0:12 and @ 0:13. Those are the 2 times you can hear it. (Listen for the hiss).

It does sound like intake noise, but in the cab, it is more of a screech.

 

Yes, my car does the same - Especially between 130mph to 140mph
At first I thought one of my windows was down but nope - This is how it is.

It's like a whistle sound that it makes - Can't watch your video - @ work but I think I know what you're on about

 

nothing wrong as far as i can tell. point out to exactly where you hear that screeching sound.

i'm kind of curious if you're just talking about the VQ hiss.

 

See 2 posts above yours. Could be the VQ hiss. In the cab it almost sounds like belt slipping.

 

On my way to work next week, maybe I can make a recording from in the cab.
