Year and a half later since we started this thread. Here's my back end again... pretty much the same as it was in the original post.

Money shot right there! You've got me sold on the rear valence wrap. Is yours a matte or satin vinyl? I wish I would've had a closer look at the meet in August.

The contrast of the red taillights and the MW paint is perfect.

Thanks, Z.

Pretty sure that's a matte finish. Either way, I don't think it looks right to have a glossy surface down low there.

It's bee on the car four years now. And it's an imperfect job, which has always bugged me. I'd like to have it re-done, and keep waiting for it to peel or rip or something that would give me the excuse. Still waiting on that.

If you're wondering how to start this project, go visit a reputable Auto Tint shop. These things tend to overlap (no pun).

I think gloss looks better than matte, but of course looks are always subjective

I went gloss black on my Q50 and it looks pretty good in my opinion.
Funny how Infiniti went with the rear valence with gloss black on the 2017 Q60's.

I'm with you 100%. I think the gloss finish looks much, much better. To me the matte finish just looks like those cheap black plastic rear valances that you see on the Chevy Camaro and several Hyundai's.

That wide-angle shot against the wood slats and glass building... really artistic, DuuMaa. Quite beautiful. Did you take that photo? If so, take a bow. So pretty.
