Question About G37 Trade
I traded my G37 lease for a QX60. I never mentioned the car was in an accident. The car has a clean title and I would assume they ran the vin. They never really looked over the car because it's very clean but would assume once they inspect it they will figure it out. Is there any legal action the dealer could take?

While what you did was shady, the dealer can't take action since they didn't do their due diligence and have the car properly inspected. The situation would be the same as if you bought a car from the dealer and they failed to point out any scratches or dents. Once you sign the paperwork its your/their problem. However, if they really want to they can bring the case to court and say you disclosed information; then try to get you to pay for the work that needs to be done or difference in value. Not likely, but it could happen.

Or did you just not mention it?
As long as the damage was properly fixed and you didn't flat out lie about it I don't see an issue.
They never asked and I assume they would run the vin before making the deal. The car looks beautiful. I got hit on the drivers door. Paint work and everything else was done perfect.
I dont see an issue. Not every accident ties back to the vin. Even if you offered that info I think its unlikely it would be communicated to a future buyer.

If you made an insurance claim to fix the car then most times the accident will pop out when the buying dealer runs the vin. I say don't worry about it. If the dealer didn't run the vin during the trade in then they failed to do their job properly and that is their screw up.
