Question Your G: Daily Driver Or Not?

Just as simple as it sounds. I searched "polls" for the past 3 years and didn't see any addressing this topic. I guess I want to know with all the enthusiasts in the house and all the modding being done...how many people actually DD these cars? I, for one...didn't buy this $30k car just to let it sit in the garage 95% of the time while I drive some $5k beater. I did think about it...but I just don't see why that makes sense. So what about you? DD or no?

I definitely use mine as a daily driver. Bought my '09 G37xS a couple of months ago and spent 10+ hours in paint correction, polishing, and protection and plan on spending more time and effort in some audio mods. I agree...I don't do that so it can sit in a garage. If it's a show car where I'm trying to win awards, I can understand and would probably not drive it much. Other than that, it's gonna be driven.

Sounds we have the same car. I'm sure color is different, but same year and trim level. I hear you about driving the car into the ground...I feel the same way about it.

Awesome. I really need to do some paint correction myself. Will probably do that between now and May.

Why would someone buy a G and not daily drive it? Only reason I can see is possible snow or if heavily modified.

Ours is a daily driver, but my wife drives it daily, I get the old Toyota T100 for my daily, but at least I don't have to worry about curb rash & door dings on that one

I'm telling you, I might be on drugs, but I swear I saw a lot of people talking like they don't DD these things because of their stance or whatever. I dunno...I guess I thought maybe people who heavily mod don't dd. Haha.

Daily driver, but I sometimes take my beater, if I'm just doing random errands. I tend to only drive my G, when I just want to enjoy the ride.

Alfredo...wouldn't that be ALL the time?! Haha, FYI...I'm using your concepts as a baseline for my modding. I'm just waiting on my loser previous boss to update me on this financial concern and if things work out the way they should, I should have my thread up and running in a couple of weeks.

I voted to see the results. I don't have one yet but I will not be driving it through the winter when I do. Living in Minnesota anyhow. If I am able to successfully move to CO then maybe. I hear they don't get it as bad. But f×ck MN winters and the reign of terror it wreaks on cars >_<

I use a bike as a daily, and the G when I'm too lazy to gear up.
