Details wanted. I'm ready to order before Christmas.

That's exciting. Can't wait to see the pics. Mine's all wrapped up and back in the box, waiting for Spring.

You guys letting them know how you heard about it? Be nice to know this effort with a prototype actually made a difference.

Well, dinner ran a little longer than planned. I must be tired, because I'm too tired to do this install tonight. Here are a couple of pics though of the paint. Initial thoughts are the paint is really nice! By providing the color code, they were able to spray with the exact paint color used on the car (QAA moonlight white). I'm looking forward to getting this installed early next week.

QAA is a 3-stage paint: base coat, top coat and clear coat. It sure seems from that picture that they painted it right. Kind of surprised, because Moonlight White isn't cheap paint to purchase when spraying such a small item.

I have someone else PM'ing me about length. I did that already on Post #3, but for confirmation... if I turn the spoiler to the underside, and measure edge-to-edge between the two strips of tape, I'm measuring 43 and 1/16" to 2/16" inches. And as I wrote earlier, it fits perfect between the D-Pillars.

It's a prototype, so I got lucky. Particularly since I thought all I had to work with was 43" exactly. Glad I was wrong.

John told me to piggyback this thread so I will...

I also was given the chance to test out the prototype for free.

Initial thoughts, paint is actually pretty decent. Im happy with it. The only problem is that my roof spoiler is 43 and 5/16 inches long making it about 1/8" too long. I have contacted the seller to see how they want to handle it.

pics to come soon hopefully.

Here's what I'm looking at after a test fit. The passenger side sits flush, as it should. On the other hand, the driver side doesn't seem it was trimmed properly from the factory. I too am reaching out to see how to move forward. See the pics below...

Length looks perfect. Color looks pretty darn good (shocked!), maybe a little whiter than your car.

However, you're right about the driver's side edge. Bummer. I'd almost say good-enough, but that's not my call.

I need to pull mine out of the box and tape it up like you did, to see where I am with that edge. Even if it's similar to yours, it's not that big of a deal to me, because gloss-black trim. But I still want to check. Good catch.

Yeah, I assume I can't complain too much since it's a sample. Hopefully they get this fixed though.

EDIT: I did the install today. Pics are below.

batwc,
Are you measuring from c-pillar to c-pillar, or the width of the windshield?

43 5/16 inches is the length of the roof spoiler. Measurement from pillar to pillar is 43 inches and length of just glass is 42 3/4"

Interesting. Mine mounts fine between both pillars, but there's absolutely no gap between the spoiler. From my experience, roof spoilers shouldn't extend past the glass. I'll be sending over new measurements tomorrow.

Are you going to take it outdoors today for pics with a real camera? Either way, so far it looks good to me.

For years now, this is exactly the design roof wing I've been hoping someone would make... something that extends the roof-line parallel(ish) over the glass, without flipping upward like silly elf shoes.

I won't get around to those pics until tomorrow. My G is still in the garage, and it gets dark before I get home from work.

Supposedly happybuyitnow will be sending me out a replacement shortly.

I will not be installing mine until Spring when the temperature warms up a bit more.
