Tire Rack and Car and Driver
LOL....yeah they are totally not biased in any way....
The Pilots are good tires but they also do not last long at all & you will be paying for new tires often. I wouldn't get the Toyo's either. They have sucked since the got rid of the old T1S.
OP sounds like a plan.

Who else has instrumented testing of the same car, same track, same day?

Are they biased, maybe. Do I think the fudge track times to make one tire come out better than another, not really

I dont think any summer tire is going to last much more than 15-20k.

Have you ran the new T1s? A friend of mine w/ a C6 has them and they have very strong dry grip and have done very well in the rain, seem to be wearing pretty well for summer tires too. The way they're performing w/ his 450hp should translate well for our Gs
The PSS are great tires, but for the price I think the Toyos are worth consideration for a solid summer tire without taking such a hit in the wallet.

This.

I understand that in the perfect world, we all want tires with high-performance, long tread-life, and a low price. But in the real world, only one of these qualities can excel. Everything else is a compromise, so just pick one. Personally, I chose high-performance PSS, with zero regrets.

And as an added bonus, they're lightweight. So... bragging rights! LOL

You must work for Toyo. I have not seen anyone else come out in support of them and Tire Rack and Consumers says they are mediocre at best.

Tire Rack only recently started carrying Toyo tires. They have done one instrumented test, which I linked. Relative to reviews, there are a grand total of 2 for 4 different summer tires.

I dont subscribe to Consumer Reports, so I dont have access to their instrumented test results, but I'd be curious to see them. If you're instead referring to owner surveys they conduct, I think those samples are somewhat biased.

Its a moot point for me, because Toyo doesn't offer a summer tire in OEM Sport sizes.

Whatever, I've had several different sets for my cars & trucks and all have exceeded expectations, and as far as mediocre at best, do you have links for recent reviews??
And no, I have no affiliation or financial interests in Toyo, just actual on hand experience w/ their tires.

Get whatever tires you want

Hah, remember the time you talked about "guys that lower their cars........"
But I digress, I won't reopen that can.

As far as tires, everyone knows how good the Pilots are, just like to bring some other tires into the discussion.

FWIW Toyo's been around awhile and has a good reputation w/ track rated tires, here's an older review showing how they stack up against more common brands
Track-Tire Test: BFGoodrich, Toyo, Michelin, and Yokohama Tires Rated ? Feature ? Car and Driver

I do, and I was wrong.

But only in so far as how low I've dropped my sedan. Any lower, and all bets are off.

Thanks for that, I have those 4 plus right now, as w/ all A/S tires there's going to be compromise, in defense of the 4 plus, they're one of the longest wearing tires in its' class and I've found the dry grip to be quite good, wet is just OK though. If they have the same summer tire comparo that you could dig up that would be great

Yes, they did in the same issue. Will dig it up when home later. Cheers.

That would be great, thanks!

If possible could you post the article? It would be nice to have some data elements around their rankings.

Here are the other two categories - winter performance and summer.
