my version of a muffler delete

Well after screwston's thorough videos of his muffler delete I decided to jump the gun and do it is well, but slightly modified. I had the stock 1.75" piping cut off all the way to the resonator and replaced with 2.25" straight pipes with the factory tips welded back. I am very impressed with this setup as it has an aggressive tone at wot or when down shifting, but once up to cruising speed you only get a slight drone. I put a single 3" catback (resonator delete) with a magnaflow on my wife's '12 ecoboost f150 and I actually think it is slightly louder than my car at cruising speed.

I know the muffler delete/straight pipe setup isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I like it. Especially for $150 compared to $400 for a decent axleback.

I'll see what I can do. I don't have a go pro and my phone doesn't take the best videos.

I thought I would give a quick update after my first week with this setup. I haven't got around to finding a gopro to borrow for a video, but I have noticed a bump in my gas mileage. My normal commute to work is around 25 miles each way with roughly 20 being on the interstate. I am somewhat of a leadfoot and usually set my cruise around 79 (70 speed limit) and had been getting around 21.5 mpg average give or take a half mile or so. Well Friday night I took the family to the movies, ninja turtles 3d , and on the way home with the cruise set around 79 I noticed my mpg bump up to around 23.5 on the same interstate, but different direction. So this morning, with an almost full tank, I was running a little early so I decided to set my cruise around 75. When I pulled into work my gauge was showing 26.1!

I know it's still early, but I'd be happy with a 2-3 mpg bump on average.

Yeah I've been meaning to get around to borrowing a go pro to shoot some video, but haven't got around to it. I let a few of my z31 buddies take it for a spin this past weekend and they all came back with smiles on their face. they can't believe a $150 muffler delete can sound so good. I am in the process of helping to get a local G/Z club started and we are supposed to be meeting this weekend so maybe I can get someone to loan me a go pro for a bit and do a quick drive.

I don't have any pics at the moment, but I had the factory tips welded back on so most people don't notice any difference until I start it lol.

I know inspections vary pretty drastically by state, but any of you guys experience issues in this regard for your muffler delete?

Pretty sure the emissions thing has been visited, with the impression that nothing should be affected by simply replacing the mufflers with straight pipes.

Just curious of if anyone hit a snag with passing inspections with this mod.

I've even considered having the OEM mufflers gutted and installed as "dummies" to make the whole thing look stock

In Missouri you are only required to have cats. I made sure to do mine at a shop that also does inspections so A) they knew the guidelines and B) if they fail it on inspection I can blame them lol.
