Just wrapped my rear spoiler what do you think?

Hey guys,

I just got done wrapping my chrome spoiler (which I hated!) but i think it turned out pretty well. I began following the diy window trim thread to get my feet wet and I really liked it so i thought why not try my spoiler. My question is I think i have to do something with the emblems and logos being chrome. I dont know how I should go about this. Should I leave them on and plastidip them (but then it will be matt black and not gloss). Should i try to wrap the letters ( i dont know if I could do that). Or should I just spay paint them gloss black? I am just afraid if I take the logos off I will not be able to get them back on and looking straight.

Mark the placement of the logos with painters tape. Take them off, paint them, and reattach them

Beautiful.
Might consider a similar wrap for it to match my carbon fiber rear diffuser.

Well done.

I plastidipped my emblems and like it quite a lot.

You start with black, first layer being 50% coverage. Next layer do the same thing. You don't want to over saturate, or it looks like garbage. Just two pass overs per layer for each emblem. It's also important to spray from the same distance each time. Wait 20 minutes between each layer (I'd recommend 4), THIS IS VITAL. You can get plastidip glossifier from dipyourcar.com, as well as black plastidip, or even metallic plastidip if you want.
On the gloss layers (do as many as you want until you reach your desired gloss) - you want a nice, wet looking layer when you apply it. Allow 30 mins dry time.

Sorry for the giant wall of text - just trying to help out! Follow my tips and it should come out fine. I've had to re-do my grille a few times from shoddy technique, finally got it right when I did it on my good friend's coupe a couple weeks ago. It truly looks like paint.

Good Luck!

nope I just kept the spoiler on when I did it. It took about an hour stretching it and making it as wrinkle free as possible. The only tough part was the ends because I couldn't get the vynel to go behind the spoiler so I had to cut it flush with it. I like the ease of use idea for the plasti dip but do you think it will look better if it is gloss black to match the spoiler? or will matt black add a bid more contrast?

Nice job on the wrap. I wouldn't worry about the letters back there, I'd remove them and just paint the Infiniti logo.
Those little letters make detailing a PITA, but that's just my 2cs.

Blnewt thanks for the encouragement! This all started because of your DIY that really helped me! I still think my window wrap is one of the best looking mods I have done to my car!

No problem, glad the DIY was helpful, although I might have started a mod bug that can't be controlled, lol.
