G37 to Live on in 2015 as Q40

Interesting little article. Shows the value you're getting in the G37. People are still buying them. I just did a week ago.

Infiniti G37 Lives on as the 2015 Infiniti Q40

The naming scheme is a mess. Guess this is one reason they let the architect of this craze go, but the damage is already done. This is stupid from the beginning. The Q50 is really a lesser car than the G37, this may be my last Infiniti if they fail to sort it out.

I really think people are making too much of a big deal about the naming scheme. When all of the models are replaced in the lineup it will be just fine.

Such a huge branding confusion, stemming from the fact that Infiniti introduced a new model, the Q50, while likely still having a huge stock of unsold G37 vehicles that they will rebrand and try to sell under the Q40 badge!

It's not that they were unsold- Infiniti purposely continued selling the G37/Q40. There's a huge price gap that the G37 is filling right now due to a lack of an entry level sedan. Once the Q30 comes on line the Q40 will disappear.

Agree. The Journey i bought last week has a build date of 11/13. They see it as an entry level Infiniti sedan, for the time being. Look how many they sold this year so far.
