so I haven't really done a lot of modding yet but I did add the grounding kit and also I advanced my timing 2 degrees .
All I have to say is do it if you haven't done it already ! It's almost like doing this has synced my engine to the transmission causing the shifts to be much more accurate and improved throttle response greatly .

Has anyone on this site done this modd ?

Quite a few people have done the grounding kit and claim to have positive results. I just ordered one off eBay for $40 shipped yesterday.

 

I was asking about the advance the timing the other day. I had it done in my Maxima and didnt know it could be done the Infiniti.

 

yeah took about a minute to do with the scan tool at my shop .Best modd so far lol. Installing my test pipes on Wednesday !

 

Is that something a dealer could do with a scan tool, or will it void warranty? If it smooths things out with engine to trans operstaion...Could be worthwhile.

 

How did you advance the timing??

 

any reputable shop with a nice scan tool can do it

 

with a scan tool you can go into the timing and advance/retard it . Advance it 2 degrees and you will be happy

 

I thought you couldn't do that permanently without having to flash the ecu... since most scan tools allow you to advance or retard timing temporarily for diagnostic or testing.

 

I'm not aware of this.....

 

Hmmm... I may bring this up to my mechanic next time I'm over there and see what he thinks about adjusting the timing.

 

Well it has stayed advanced thus far , I will check it at the end of the week and see if it held the program and let ya know

 

Very interesting, I would have assumed this would all be controlled by the ECU mapping....Might have to check into this.
