^+1. This. A G6 is a front drive econobox IIRC. Makes no sense. Unless it was modded heavily which could be the case since the guy was at the track. No way you take a stock G6 to the track. Must be more to the story...

 

If it was a G6 I wouldn't own up to it spanking my G37. Even if my car were running like crap I just would not tell anyone...ever!!!

But yea, doesn't make sense why a G6 would even have a chance due to the G's obvious performance advantage. A G8 would of course be another story... if it was a G8 GXP I could believe you got beat.

Guys, I agree that the G6's are junk, but the hot rod types were pretty quick. From what I can find, a GXP or GTP coupe could run 5.9 - 6.2 for 0-60 and low 14 second quarters. That's about half a second slower than a G in both measures, and it's in line with the fastest Maximas and 3.5L Altimas. If the G6 was modded or you were asleep at the switch ...

I feel like you answered your own question, sort of..

 

I can see that happening. I got beat by a soccer mom in a v6 AWD Venza from a dig. She was trying to punk me from a right lane which was ending. I gave it, and spun sideways, and that was the end of it since my wife started freaking out.
The one wheel drive (base G37) really sucks with this much torque. I am too used to my Saab Turbo X XWD system where I just drop the clutch and it goes.
