Traded Her In

Well after four years and 25k miles the car buying bug bit me...bad. After some shopping around I decided to order a BMW M235i. To be completely honest if I could go back to 2010 I would have ordered a G37s coupe with the 6MT. The sedan is a great car to drive but I really missed having a manual and I really don't need another set of doors. For some reason the coupe just has better lines in my opinion. I was able to get 20k for trade and probably could have gotten a bit more if I would have tried harder with the haggling.

I will say this, the G37 was the MOST reliable car I've owned to date! All that ever needed done was basic maintenance. The car only made one trip to the dealership for a non-maintenance item and that was my own fault for loosing the wheel lock key.

Good luck with your new car. I've heard great things about the new 2 series. Definitely a great looking car.

Nice pick up, that 235 looks like a blast to drive. Give us a review once you've had enough seat time.

Did the dealer give you a deal on the purchase?

Will do. I'm still in "break-in" mode but the car is a blast...at least until I have to shift at 4k. I really like all the power it puts out on the low end of the rev band.

I went though USAA and was able to get the car for 2% over invoice. Without going though all the paperwork, I think I was out the door (taxes, tags, extended warranty) for around 2k over MSRP.

I love the red interior!! It doe slook like a lot of fun!! Congratulations!!

I like BMW's, but don't know that much about them. Is that a new M? Like an M2 rather than an M3 or is it a 235 with the M package? Either way it looks awesome and really fun to frive, love not only the interior color but the way it is setup inside & the lines on it look great! I really like that front bumper! Might be my next toy, but is it an M package or an M?

I was in the same boat you, missed having a MT. I just traded in my G37S for a 335i M-Sport 6mt. Congrats on the new ride.

Nice coupe, looks like they got those M235s just right, not the choppy look of the previous 135s. The 135i that I drove was such a kick in the as$ to drive, so I imagine that 235 puts a big grin on your face. Enjoy it!

The M235i is not a true M car, think 235i M Sport instead. M sport is wheels, tires, suspension, and body work. Kinda like the first G37 IPL release.

If AWD is an issue there should be an M235i x-drive out for MY15. I have no idea what you give up to get AWD but I bet you will still be able to option a 6MT....listening Infiniti.

Looks good- much better than the previous 1 series. Definitely report back on the driving. The red interior looks good- not sure my middle-aged self could pull the trigger on it, but it looks great.

Congrats!

Ever test drive the 6MT G sedan? (just curious)

Drove a bunch of B8/8.5 S4s myself, but for me it was more the cool factor than the performance, which is certainly tough to justify ($$$)
