Question on parts
Question on parts
I have a 2010 G37 with a Takeda intake with a OBX axle back exhaust. Would you get a berk HFC or a Motordyne M370? I have read that either is good but both does not really add a lot more power. Please need input.
Thanks
Thanks
From what I've heard and read, the HFC is one of the best bolt ons you can do to increase power. I haven't done much research on the 370. There are a few guys on here that have done a lot of research on the 370 and some that have it, I'm sure they'll chime in soon.

I would go HFC over an M370. The cats seem to be the biggest bottleneck in the system. Full disclosure, I don't have the M370. I'm on the fence whether I will pick one up before I get tuned.
The M370 is the upper intake manifold, it goes between the top of the cylinder heads and the throttle bodies.
My opinion on the M370 is the following. It's another breather mod that allows for additional airflow into your engine. I would really only add this if you had an upgraded intake AND a full exhaust. My reasoning for having these parts is, you can only push as much air into your motor as you can push out - meaning, get rid of your exhaust restrictions (OEM cats, and exhaust if you so choose) to allow for the additional air being allowed to enter the engine.
Another point regarding the M370, having this, along with other breather mods, can cause your engine to run lean. This is why most recommend getting a tune along with the installation of an M370.
I have a full exhaust from Fast Intentions and I have a long tube cold air intake. I plan on purchasing an M370 manifold or Z1 manifold and installing it just before I get a tune. That way, the engine isn't starved on fuel and when tuned, it will operate at a better frequency with the added air and fuel working together to make a bit more power.
Hope this, and the notes from others helps.

There also seems to be a common opinion that non-resonated 200 cell-count cats can be raspy when matched to an aftermarket cat-back, so look into that. Alternatives are a 300 cell-count catalyst, and/or built-in resonators. ARK and Fast Intentions both sell resonated cats, but with different tech on the resonator.

This, and the long-tube intake design... which you already have, OP. Get the cats.

If you're going for cats and you don't want rasp, get your name on the list for some FI RHFCs. There will be a lead time but it's well worth it. Drop Lance a line, or give Tony at FI a call.
And these be the Resonated High Flow Cats:
Go FI RHFC's When I had mine I loved them. I WILL be getting a set again . The power you pick up in the mid range is very much worth it. Light Red and light blue is my unturned run with Takeda's, FI RHFC and exoticspeed cat back, the dark run is my TUNED with Stillen Gen 3's and cat back only-no HFC's-.
