How do you know if an Infiniti is truly a CPO?

New to the G family! Picking up the car tomorrow

This might sound dumb but I was wondering how to verify the 2011 G37 I bought is truly CPO'd by Infiniti. I mean is the Infiniti dealer supposed to provide me with some sort of certification? Or is there a website that can be used to verify that information? Infiniti Canada doesn't include free extended warranty so not sure what else can be used to verify if the car is CPO or not.

Thanks.

When I bought my '09 it was CPO'd and I had to sign paperwork to basically sign up for it. Dig through your papers from the dealership and see if there is one for CPO. Otherwise just ask the dealer when you pick it up. I also received a pamphlet about 2 weeks later explaining my benefits and it also came with a little card to keep in your car for your roadside assistance.

Same. There is a disclosure form you sign stating that it CPO and the thingie comes in the mail. CPO is awesome. Gives you free roadside assistance (extended two years I believe, unlimited miles) and extended powertrain warranty.

CPO is usually a joke if you think about it. If the car is over its warranty period than it can't hurt as they have some sort of extended warranty included in the work.

But paying an extra 2-3k for new "belts" on a car with under say 60k miles is absurd. I've had a salesman try to sell me that b.s. and when asked which belts in any car needs changing at 28k miles he choked.

Do your research and look for accident claims and every/any service records. It'll save you a money and a heartbreak.

Same with me on the CPO ... there was paperwork stating it as part of the purchase package and then I received something later in the mail.

The extended warranty is worth something, but that's not why I bought the car. I bought it because it was the color I wanted, in great shape and low miles. Most of the cars I looked at were CPO because I'm really picky and - from what I can see - Infinity dealers tend to CPO the best trades they get. It's worth it to me to pay a bit more and get a car in primo condition.

If you don't want CPO, some dealers will take it off and give you some of the money back since they have to pay infinity for the extended coverage. Typically a few hundred $ I think. They aren't going to give you back any money they spend on reconditioning.

Thanks for the information guys. Picked up the car today and it's beautiful.

The dealer says it's certified by Infiniti but I don't believe that I have signed any forms related to CPO. Maybe the CPO process here in Canada is different than in US, not sure. Dealer did mention though that I'll receive some letters from Infiniti in two weeks or so. Guess I'll just have to wait until the letters arrive and see if there's any confirmation of CPO.

Thanks again.
