I just saw this thread. I had this issue exactly - my wife is in the passenger seat, and the passenger airbag light stays on. Infiniti of San Francisco replaced the passenger seat, after troubleshooting it for a couple of weeks. It's been about a year, and the problem only re-occurred a couple of times, for a short period of time (light stays on, and goes off after a few minutes)
