Snow Accident

Took a trip to Montreal this past weekend and there was a pretty decent snow storm heading up. Got off an exit in Montpelier, VT and slid down a road that was just covered with ice. Hit the back of a pickup/plow at a red light and got stuck under it. Sucks, but everyone is safe.

There's actually a big gash in the hood underneath that pile of snow. Dropping my car off at the auto-body shop today.

Sorry to hear about that! Did your airbags go off? Glad everyone is okay.

Thanks. No the air bags did not go off, thankfully. I was only going about 5 mph at the time of impact. It just slid right under the truck. I almost dodged it.

Well there's that at least. I'm from Texas and don't have any experience driving on snow/ice. What's the turnaround on getting the car back?

I am not sure, I have to drop it off in about an hour. I figure it should be about a week or so. It happened on Thursday but I didn't want to turn it in til we got back from Montreal.

Good to hear that you and the family are fine. They should be able to patch that damage up and make it as good as new.

Keep the headlight! Have some fun with painting it and figure out color schemes!
Glad to hear everyone is alright as well. Turn around time shouldn't be any more than a week for hood/fender/light.

So close to making it thru this truly crappy winter. So close.

Do you expect to have it repaired before the April 26th meet-up? Are you still tentative on that trip?

It should be all set and done by the end of the week. I am still tentative on that trip. I should have a final answer for that one soon enough.

Thanks everyone! It sucks but it could've been much worse. It was a pretty serious storm from Mass to Canada and we saw a few cars in ditches on the side of the road. We were lucky.
