the obsession has begun!

So I've had my 2012 xs for a week now and haven't been this obsessed with a vehicle since I had my 2005 tundra that I purchased brand new. I was just outside in upper 30 degree weather and a light rain wiping my baby off with a microfiber towel because it still had some road salt/grime left on it. I had went through the autowash Thursday and got a majority off, but it still had the nasty offwhite looking film left which sticks out like a sore thumb on malbec black......

Thanks and I don't have much planned. I had the windows tinted yesterday and have tossed around the idea of color matching the chrome grill along the with the mt Fuji and g37xS logos on the back with the removal of the "Infiniti" on the back. I'd like to do some sort of exhaust also, but I would have to convince my wife of why I need to do stuff like that first lol.

As far as a pictures, I have a good one on my phone that I will try to figure out how to post on here. I use the dolphin browser on my android so I'm not sure if I can or need to send the picture to a computer first or not.

You can probably get the imgur app on your phone and upload it from there, and then copy the link and paste it somewhere you can read it, like your phone's clipboard or a text message.
The links are usually short and easy to copy onto here.

As far as exhaust goes - Try Tanabe Medallion Axle back if you want improved sound quality, but not super loud. I have a feeling that would ease some of the SO's concerns.

I personally had my mufflers cut off and straight pipes put in their place - It's pretty awesome

Sorry for the crap video quality, my brother didn't focus the camera :P

Only run your car through an auto wash if it's touchless, and just get the basic no frills wash. Those extra faux waxes and add ons can be pretty potent. I can't run mine through them anymore since I'm dropped but I also just whipped by the dryer so I could hand dry FWIW.

^^the muffler delete is very compelling, clip sounds great! Any negative side effects? CEL or codes? Performance?

Might just have to consider getting this done eventually, full exhaust is overkill for me, honestly Just in it for the sound

It was a touchless I went through. Once it finally warms up I'm going to search around and find someone to do a full detail on my car. Then after that it will be manual wash and hand dry with a microfiber towel....

It's all good. You may have actually welcomed me in my original post in the newbie section, but I'm not 100% sure. I totally agree on the touchless wash. I am going insane right now because of the swirl scratches in the clear coat on my G from whoever detailed it prior to my purchase of it. I wanted to complain at the dealership, but I drove 6 hours to get my G because I was dead set on a black on black X with the sports package and this was the best deal I could find. If it was factory new it would be different. This was a 2102 though so I knew it would have some blemishes.

If you don't have a random orbit buffer I'd invest in one w/ a variety of compound/polishing pads and a few grades of compound, polish & wax. It's quality Zen time w/ my ride
Plus Infiniti paint is very easy to muck up

First rule of detailing: Don't wipe road grime off your car with a MF towel. All your doing is smearing fine salt particles, rocks, etc into your paint and causing more damage than your car being a little wet. It is spring, ****s gonna be damp. Come to terms with it until the roads are dry and then clean your car until your hearts content.

Welcome to the forums!

Absolutely no negative effects. Great sound, I like it more than my dad's Tanabe Medallion Axle Back that he has on his coupe. And, I only paid $100 to have pipes fitted, and the tips cut and welded on. Compare that to the $800 he spent on Tanabe.

It may not look as pretty underneath, but meh. Doesn't really bother me.

I would recommend it for sure.
