Dropped card between seats

Yesterday morning I dropped a credit card between my driver seat and center console. I tried my hardest to get it out with my hand, no luck. I tried moving the seat back, still no luck. I also tried a hanger with a piece of gum at the end, and I think I just made it more buried. I can just barely see it with a LED flash light. Anyone have any ideas?

lol! keep working at it, you'll get it out eventually. ask your wife or kid to help since they have smaller hands...

this reminds me of when i bought my previous second-hand G35. while on the test drive i noticed a business card between the seat and console. after the drive i waited for the salesman to walk away then i grabbed it. lucky for me it was the previous owner's card. he was a fellow engineer which was nice to see. i gave him a call and had a 10 minute chat about the car. was able to find out more info in 10 minutes about the car then 2 hours with the dealer, of course. gave me piece of mind that the car had been well cared for, and settled any of my concerns. of course i didn't tell the dealer any of this and was able to negotiate a killer deal.

The Crevice of No Return!

It is difficult to get anything out of there especially if you have big hands. But it shouldn't be that hard. Move the seat all the way forward. Try to reach it from behind. Use a stick, or something similar to push it to where you can grab it. Also as was mentioned, if you have a small shop vac with a crevice tool or micro tools like I have you can suck it out. If you have access to an air compressor with a blow gun type attachment, try blasting it with a puff of air to push it out. If all else fails, remove the 4 bolts holding the seat down and move the seat to get to it. It shouldn't come to that.

Good luck. We've all been there. Just maybe not having as much trouble getting to it as you are.

Somebody needs to create a tool/service to retract items lost in the blackhole commonly referred to as the space between the front seats and center console.

My wife's car probably has a complete pack of unchewed gum, school supplies for 2 and enough change for a family trip to Burger King between her seats.

There is a thing you can put in the crack at Walmart. I was considering it as it would stop the hole up and make dropped stuff easy to get.

They exist already. It's called a reach tool. I've got several, a "claw" type one that grasps small things and several magnetic ones to pick up anything that is made of ferrous metals.

Flexable grabbing tool

Go to any parts store and get a flexible grab tool. We call them ladyfingers.

Oh, that's nice! And two feet long, too, which is great for those times when you see the bolt you want just sitting there on the lower panel under the engine... mocking you.

OP, if you have a computer "kit" lying around, you probably have a little 4" version of that. That might work, too.

Just get a 4' long piece of foam pipe wrap at Home depot and cut to fit, it will fit that side void perfectly and since it's black you won't notice it and best of all you'll be out $3.

Comment of the thread nomination!

Did you also pay attention to my long reach tool as well? It's about 2 feet long. And it extends several more inches when it's engaed in the job it is specifically designed for. And not only it Friday, I am walking out 1.5 hours early because my boss is somewhere playing golf.

As a guy I instinctively didn't wanna think about your "long reach tool," but would rather make fun of the micro one! So you're saying you're a "grower not a show-er?"

I'm almost outta here too....I think my boss left after lunch...Yeah WTF am I still doing here?!?!?
