Question about Anniversary Edition G37x
Question about Anniversary Edition G37x
I had a question about the Anniversary Edition G37x Sedan. I did a quick search and didn't see any other threads - 1st time user on this website.
I'm looking at a 2010 G37x Sedan Anniversary Edition for $23,600 with 38k miles. I did a google search about the Anniversary Edition and all of them talk about a fully loaded G with red interior. The car I'm looking at is fully loaded, but does not have the red interior; however, the VINcheck says that this is an "Anniversary Edition."
Can anyone state what the Anniversary Edition means?
Also, an idea on pricing would be great. The car is super clean - Silver exterior with black interior. Premium package & Navi Package included with Splash Guards and Kick plate installed (not sure if these come standard with Anniversary Editions, but figured I'd add it for a pricing perspective.") Any help would be greatly appreciated! I absolutely love the G Sedan and want to buy, but want to get your opinions.

Definitely not the Anniversary Edition. That special edition comes with a sport bumper and I believe they come with the midnight black grill. Seats are easily swappable but I highly doubt someone did that along with the cosmetics I mentioned above.
The car you linked to has a non-sport bumper and standard grill - AND standard G37 wheels. Sorry to say but this is definitely not an Anniversary Edition.

also comes with painted rear spoiler and special 18 inch rays.
I purchased a 2010 G37x from Carmax in the past year. Mine was listed as an Anniversary Edition on the VIN check, too, even though it is not. I think it is something about Carmax’s system that makes it show up that way. The salesman did not try to pass it off as an Anniversary Edition, so I don’t think there is any dishonesty going on here—just a computer system issue.
In terms of price, you are going to pay more at Carmax compared to a dealer for a comparable car. Mine was about $1000 more with 15,000 less miles than this one. If it is in great shape, it might be worth it. I purchased it from Carmax because my wife was set on a certain exterior/interior color combo that was hard to find. If you like the black interior with silver or gray, you should be able to find something at a dealer for $500-1000 less. That was at least what I found during my search. I think buying from Carmax only makes sense when you are looking for vehicles, features, or color combos that are difficult to find. Otherwise, you end up spending more money.

I did a quick check on retail prices at kbb.com. The car you are looking at (G37x w/Premium and Technology pkg) is listed 23,600 which = kbb's retail price. It was indicated the purchase price from a dealer should be about $1,000 less. You could probably find a better deal elsewhere if CARMAX won't negotiate.
