to purchase or not?

was lloking at a 2010 g37 sedan sport package (front lip + rear spoiler) comes with nav, new tires. the car is not from an infiniti dealership and its not certified. carfax records show it had reegular upkeep (oil changes, etc from an infiniti dealership) tires are pretty new.

the nissan dealership has done nothing to it since they got it just the 'inspection' which seemed to have passed with flying colors. they didnt do an oil change because they said 'it wasnt needed'

car sits at 40k and they want 24k out the door. whats your thoughts?

test drove the car and it seemed solid.

my question is.. how good of a deal is this.

Its a pretty decent deal. I paid about that for my '11 with a few more miles on it. I would ask for 23k OTD. If you're unsure about it ask them if you could either take it for an over night test drive, they'll usually want to go ahead and work up some numbers, run credit, ect, or ask them if you could take it to a Infiniti dealership. Personally I would just ask for the over night test drive.

Just out of curiosity does the carfax say where it was regularly maintained? I know my '09 showed it had been maintained at a dealership.

Is it a 7at or a 6mt?

Hope this helps some.

I think its a good deal. I would go for it.

I've asked a couple of dealers in the past for an overnight test drive and as long as its a used car they usually go for it. I almost bought a Lexus LS460L and took it home on an overnight test drive, but turned down the deal due to the high milage.

Do you by chance have a link for the car?

Definitely provide a link if you can. And you can definitely get them lower. I know they can let it go for 23k. Just don't let them jerk you around. Tell them you are 100% certain this is the car for you and you aren't willing to pay $1 more than $23k out the door. You need to be firm - walk out if you have to.

From: Framingham Ma,
Sounds ok to me. I'm looking also but at 09's I can find them with under 50k for $18's. Only reason is I want to be under 20k

Good luck man. I'm currently looking at a G37S Sedan as well. I found 2 in my area. One is exactly like the one you mentioned and is listed at $25,900 for about 38k miles, while the other is a bit further out & it's a 2010 G37S Sedan for about $23,900 with 48k miles (w/o the sport lip and spoiler).

With a trade in (06 Civic Si) I got the 2011 down to 22,000 OTD, but I didn't pull the trigger because payments were still to high for me. I expect to get one of the 2 in March.

He's right. At first this auto salesman was trying to get me to do $22,700 for the 2011, but after walking, they called me back and said they'll do $22,000.

If I didn't have so many things to take care of within the next month, I would've definitely taken it....Car's still for sale too (been checking for the past few weeks )

If you're ok at 23.7, might as well just kick in an extra $300 and buy the car if it is what you want.

price seems a little high for a 2010 with 40k miles on it. unless its because of the sport package. i would try a carmax they have a lot of 2011 sedans with only 23k miles or so for around $23- $24

OP said $24 out the door, which implies that price includes sales tax. You would need to factor in sales tax to those carmax prices for it to be a valid comparison.

contacted infiniti and requested a service history.
guy on the phone checked it out and told me the car had regular oil changes, but the previous owner declined all major services 15k/30k services.

the guy said everything else looked fine. the car had all wheels stolen and in the process the gas tank was damaged so all wheels got replaced and so did the gas tank.

That's a pretty decent deal. Seems like prices are maybe up a bit down here compared to last year when I bought my car. Also seems like they are all over the place on Carmax, so that might not be a good guide.
