From VW Golf R to 2013 Infiniti G37x...
I had a 2002 Audi S4 Avant from new. Lots of modders on the forums. Even at that, most agreed the best money spent was on high performance driving lessons.
Granted this is targeting track times rather than road driving, but it does raise an interesting point that might apply to some of us.

I know this thread is kind of old,, but it really helped me a lot before getting my Golf R. I am not sure why some people just dislike the honest review/opinion.. Personally I think It is very helpful and is a great review. and now I have driven both cars (2012 G37s sedan for 6 years and 2017 Golf R for 3 months), and I tend to agree with you on lots on things.. except Golf R has lots of upgrades and changes from 2013 and 2014. I hope this thread helps people in the future
very old thread, but I think the is that he compared the top of the line "uber sporty" Golf R to the grocery getter version (x) of the g37. There's no comparison. Especially when you consider and forced inducted car will compensate for altitude air differences too. It was somewhat interesting but as mentioned, not an apples to apples comparison.
