Kind of regretting my decision not to stick with Honda right now
For one, I don't care how my approach is. I'm not trying to convert or persuade anyone of anything.
Secondly, I don't think honda is better than Infiniti. I'm merely saying my personal experience with Honda has been vastly better so far. I think I'm entitled to say that. It's literally exactly the same as the guy in this thread who said he can't trust acura after his tranny issues. People naturally form opinions based off of personal experiences. When my car leaves me stranded on literally the coldest day of the year (-50 windchill) a month after buying it, I ain't exactly smelling roses over here.

Can't compare Civic with G37.
I drove my wife's Civic this morning (R18) in cold temps. I thought it was louder than the G on startup in this weather and also the G's engine becomes quieter more quickly, this could be because of Redline oil in the G and Pennzoil in the Civic.
I have driven the G in the same weather, and on both cars the transmission is jerky initially and gets better. However, the G warms up in 5 minutes whereas the Civic took 25 minutes for the coolant temperate to be in the optimal range. Once the G does warm up its very peppy in the cold air.

I owned a civic (99 HX) before my G37S (both manuals).
Besides the RWD, the G is a worse winter car, mainly due to the amount of power put to the wheels. With the civic, I used to go wherever I wanted in the winter with snow tires on and never worried about anything.
Haven't had any probs starting the G in the cold yet, but it feels like it doesn't like it at all. -4F out right now (windchill -35F). Starts ok, takes about half my commute to work (~coupla minute warm up, 13 miles) before everything is warmed and lubed (stick and clutch are no longer stiffened up). Engine doesn't like the cold cold starts, but mainly just the normal noises amplified a bit. Nothing seems out of the ordinary. And of course, the creaks and rattles get worse.
Is it worse than the civic in the winter? Yes. Would I go back to my civic, no (altho I do wish I kept it to use as a beater)

Had a 0 degree cold-start this morning and no issues at all. Albeit that the car cranked slow because it was cold, and yes it gets noisy in colder weather.
OP, do you just have a bad taste in your mouth because it broke down on you within the first month of ownership? That can happen to anyone... I purchased an 08 Acura TSX CPO and within the first 2 months, my starter and alternator crapped out - AND eventually ran into weird transmission issues. Yes the dealer replaced the starter, alternator and transmission, but I quickly decided I didn't want to bother with anything else in that vehicle.
It's a young G37. Take it to the dealer and have them look over everything. Make them coldstart it in the morning and show them what you don't like about it. Maybe they can do something for you.

Your car should not have went into limp mode for no reason, definitely your particular car not the brand.
If you are comparing reliability yes a Civic is fairly rock solid even when compared to BMW, Ferrari, even my last water heater. Although trying to debate Honda's to Infiniti's on a G37 board is going to be pointless.

I am up by you north of Minneapolis and my car started fine, warmed up in about 5 min, and drove perfect. Never had a problem with mine so far. But than again, I know the person before me took excellent care of the car.
It was -22 degree Fahrenheit yesterday. Mine started fine.
It has happened about 3 times in the past that it would stall right after starting, and the when it did not stall, would go into limp mode. However, those were extreme cold days, like -31 degree or below, and probably -40 with windchill. The Mazda I had did not like this kind of weather any better.
Infiniti roadside service uses contractors, not their own tow trucks. On a cold day like this, all tow trucks are busy because your car isn't the only one that will act up. In the region I'm from, sometimes you have to wait 16 hours for a tow truck on a really cold day.

I hope you're not starting your car and just driving off.....
I start my car and let it run for about 4-5 minutes even before I start driving in the morning. When I begin driving, I take it very easy until the trans and diff fluid gets up to operating temperature.
Your civic runs better because a) it's a 4-cylinder and it warms up quicker, b) because it's FWD, your trans fluid warms up quickly being close to the engine, and c) those motors are built to be turned on and driven. The VQ37 is a performance motor and needs time to build oil pressure and warm up. Don't expect it to perform right off a cold start. I think you're jumping to conclusions a bit too quickly...
Also, keep in mind that it's -10 out... that car needs to warm up.

I would sell it to carmax and buy another.
and move to where it's warmer
Yes, to all of the people saying "it could happen to any car" and whatnot, I completely understand that. I'm not saying the G is a terrible car or anything like that, merely that I'm displeased that the car I just bought a month ago has already left me stranded. It's a vent post, that's all. Some of you guys are way too invested in this car and are taking this personally - it's a CAR. I'll never understand why people get so defensive over brands and whatnot.
Your car definitely seems like a lemon bring it back to the dealer and have them take a look at it. My 2013 G37xs seems to handle the freezing temps and snow really well. I think both honda and nissan build great quality products owned cars from both companies. Infact had a 1990 civic for 16 yrs and 1996 nissan quest for nearly 17 yrs before getting the g. The g sedan is loud at start up due to the vvel mechanism but its normal. In general I think my g37 is pretty solid outside a few rattle issues.

Avg new Infiniti's go from low 30-40k+.
You spent not even half of that, look how you complain.
You bought a used car without the aid of a mechanic.
You trusted the dealer & now are mad you have issues.
I can assure you a $100 spent before you bought the car may have avoided some of your issues. Bring it in for service & stop waisting time whining, I don't like my car because it's noisy.
Let's see, your complaining about spending 22k.
Most of us paid high 30s low 40k range, you spend that $ then say"it's just a car"
Since you believe that, why buy an Infiniti.
If your civic was so great, why not buy a NEW ONE?
Because it's a weak civic, lol 14 psi wow.
How much to the wheels?
My guess not a lot if you haven't said once about how much power the Vtec made yo.
Lose the honda mindset, you won't make any friends like this just my .02

Every car I know has been having issues here and there with these extreme cold temps. My car ran rough yesterday too. Just gotta let it warm up and then it will be fine.
My roommates 335D threw a check engine light in the cold and my parents X5 went into limp mode. The subarus started then died followed by a CEL. I think it is just the cold playing havoc on the sensors and computers. You have to remember the G has a lot more going on and a lot more to 'hiccup' in weather like this compared to a Civic which is a relatively simple car.
Park it in your garage, let it warm up, if the lights are still on, call up Rudy at Luther and he will take care of you.

My recently purchased 2010 G37x has started and ran fine in -25 f. crappy Ohio weather. It started fine and ran fine this whole week of freezing temperatures. I am so glad I have the heated seats. This car rocks!
