Lately someone has been keying and found some dents overnight so obviously some jerk out there is doing this to my car for wtv reason and i would like too know who to possibly take this to the cops. i just need it overnight like 8 hrs or so please help i cant find anything like this, does it even exist?

I don't think that'll help since you can only focus on one spot of the car.

Doesn't it make more sense to have a camera outside the car so you can record them doing it as well as possibly the vehicle they're in and a plate number?

Agree with BB, but:

https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-sed...a-options.html

Just get one with motion activated abilities. Or park in a garage/close to a window your able to watch the car. Alarm with a glass break sensor would also alert you to anyone messing with it

BB is probably right, you're going to want something outside. Inside the car won't be as simple as you may think, you need a recording device and power etc. and unless it's fairly hi res you won't really get something the PD can use.

It's possible, don't get me wrong, we built a surveillance van the CT FBI task force was jealous of but you're dealing with very specific single views. If you can get a camera in one if your focused on the car outside you'll likely have better luck.

Not sure if this will help but I bought a camera from Best Buy to put outside my apartment that over looks my parking lot. It works great during the day and decent at night, mainly because my lot isn't well lit. But it records to an SD card and I have it set up to record when there is any type of motion and it deletes the oldest recording to save space.

I use to have the box it records to hooked up to my computer and would leave my computer on with Skype opened and set to automatically accept any incoming calls and I could call the Skype account on my computer and it would video chat so I could see what's on the camera. It's a pretty cool set up but rarely use the Skype account.

^^^ this

I did a set up in FL for a buddy whose Caddy was getting torn up. Moved it to the new house and still working well. One of the guys that works for me has a similar set up in his house upstate NY. Runs off motion and alerts onto the iPhone.

I have the Blackvue Dr500 GW ($250) and bought the blackvue powermagic pro cable ($40). This cable Connects to the battery directly and keeps the camera recording even after you shut off the ignition and provides up to 13 hours on parking mode recording depending on your SD Card.

I have the Blackvue DR550 Wifi, i love it. I have the box that allows full time video. If it doesn't sense movement for 10 min it goes into parking mode and has motion and shock activation. Wasn't to expensive or difficult to install. I would recommend that.
