Replacing stock Bumper .. had an accident !!
So i was driving on i95...where i was locked in by a truck and 4 cars behind me in the left lane...when a semi truck tire must have had a blowout and left the rubber in the middle of the left lane....when i saw it (since its black and night time) i had no time to react not to mention not much option for a reaction...
my car: 2010 G37xS in Black
so can anyone please tell me ...
1. How much is a new bumper from infiniti installed and painted?
2. Should i go ahead with the OEM bumper my car came with?
thanks again!
please dont say "why arent you going through insurance" ....my deductible is already 1,000 cause jersey insurance in insane and i wasnt going to wait for lousy jersey cops to take 2 hours to make a report. Not to mention its my everyday driver.

Personally, if you are replacing the bumper, I'd go with the sport bumper option. I think it looks better IMHO.
Here is a post that blnewt had provided in another thread on "non-sport to sport bumper conversion". These parts were from an outfit that sells discounted parts from Infiniti so your best bet may be to go through the dealership.

I got real lucky and found a factory paint matched bumper on Ebay for $100 + shipping that was sent from Infiniti of Riverside. This was ordered & painted then found out it wasn't the right one.
I would get the same bumper, especially since you already have the sport package. The thing that will kill you is shipping, I paid only $70 shipping (again, got real lucky) but typically shipping will be around $200-250, the box is the size of a refrigerator
If you get one from your dealer they may be able to offset the shipping, I called a couple dealers and they didn't pass the shipping on to me so that would be what I'd suggest. I'd give Ebay a quick look to, who knows maybe you'd get lucky too
Good Luck!

I had my rear bumper replaced and repainted last month from a not-at fault accident (rear ended at stop light) and it cost about $1300 because they also included blending in the quarter panels. Of course the at-fault driver's insurance paid for the damage.
The bumper was already over $350 brand new from dealer non-painted. Also, I lived in NJ with my v36 sedan and only paid $800 annually for full coverage including $500 deductible for collision and comprehensive with bodily injury limits, uninsured/underinsured set at 250/500k, and I'm only 25. How much was your premium? I recently registered my car to inner-city Boston and my premium was $980 annually and had collision deductible set at $500 and comprehensive set at $250 with same bodily injury limits. If you think NJ has bad insurance rates, you should see what it's like in Massachusetts and the cost to own a car. They also charge you this excise motor vehicle tax per year on top of the annual $29 inspection fee and $50 biannual registration fee.
If you bought a new car in Massachusetts, on top of the 6.25% sales tax, you also pay close to an additional $1000 for motor vehicle excise tax on the first year, $600, on the second year, $300 on the third year, $200 on the fourth year, and then $100 on every year after that. This makes owning a new car very difficult, and a bigger reason for owning used cars.
You should have kept your deductibles at max $500 if you can. If you can find the truck that left the blown out tire on the freeway then they are liable for the damage. Your damage may be more since the front bumper probably costs more than the rear bumper. Is your grille damaged also?
