They must weigh more than that. Tires alone are around 25-29lbs. Cast wheels are at least that much, especially chunky wheels intended for SUV use and abuse.
Wheels might not be as heavy as they look since the spokes are probably recessed quite a bit on the underside. I'm guessing 28-30 lbs, which is no lightweight but acceptable for a daily driver. Yep, no way are you weighing in at 35 lbs for the tire/wheel combo, at least 55-60 lbs.
