If anyone is wondering I went by TopSpeed's office yesterday and they do still have the nice tips in stock so I picked up one for myself. I didn't know they were down the street from my job.

Free same day shipping!!!

Oh and I'm loving the sound!!

Painted mufflers matte black and had my TopSpeed exhuast installed today.

Quick review:

Fit: 8/10 it was on in 30 mins (professional install)
Looks: Tips sit flush with body, painted my mufflers as well. The tips are stainless steel, I would have liked them more if they had a nicer finish. Much better looking then OEM and overall the tips are high quality.
Sound: Thought it would be louder, have not noticed any drone and at crusing speeds its quiet. I'm comparing it to my 335i dinan amd the AWE i had on my audi so maybe I set my expectations high for a $400 system.

Over all happy with the price and look, hoping sound gets louder at acceleration with break in.

Question

So it sounds more different outside of the car than it does in the cockpit? That's what I'm after!

you won't hear it nearly as much in the car w/ the windows rolled up, there's a small window of drone from 1500-1800 rpm but not too obtrusive. Here's some sound clips in this post~

i have a decent amount of drone in the cockpit i think its due to vibration though...probably because i had to cut the beam off the midpipe? is this possible

If it's from 1500rpm through 1800rpm that's where mine shows up, but it's not too loud IMO (but I've got old ears) , so maybe something else is going on w/ yours or your ears are better than mine

This is correct, I have the same but it is so minimal in my opinion that it is a non-issue. I'm back from vacation so now I will have some time to break it in properly

Been thinking about this or ARK or Invidia. Wonder if I should take the plunge for ~$469?

ARK & Invidia are louder & full cat back exhaust. Top Speed is the best mid/axle back for the price

I understand that part. What I'm contemplating is whether I should spend spend double the amount for a full cat back?

For the price you can't go wrong IMO. And you could use the money you save for an intake, the sound of my TopSpeed and my Injen SRI is really good IMO, and when you open it up over 3500 rpm you'll be smilin' ear to ear

So it seems like my suspicions are confirmed in that they do have the good tips in stock and unless requested will send you the ****ty ones. I've got to say I'm pretty upset about that.

Not sure what can be done now that I've had it a month+ but it truly bothers me knowing I could have had an even better looking setup.

To touch on what others have asked -- mine line up flush with the bumper. I've been waiting to "finish stage 1" before posting pics but I'll make sure to post pictures of the hardware before the install as well as after.

BEFORE YOU ORDER ASK WHICH TIPS YOURE GETTING
