Purchased Infiniti decals off eBay and decided to put them on the OEM calipers.
Was planning to paint the calipers red with G2, but since it is a lease, I didn't want to go through the trouble.
I feel that even though the bare caliper is ugly, it needed something.

The decals for some reason wouldn't cooperate and I had to place/stick each and every letter one at a time...that is reason why the lettering isn't quite straight.

Yeah or Nay...let me know your thoughts.

meh, interesting idea but looks a bit odd IMO. the fronts look better than the rears. the letters will likely melt off soon anyhow or droop down to spell some embarrasing word.

at least your wheels are very clean with no curbage! guys like us are few and far between! curbed wheels are one of the first things i notice on a decent vehicle.

Hope that they don't melt off...decals were specifically made for brake calipers.
I had some on my Lexus IS300 & FX35 and they never peeled/melted off, but that was after G2 paint.

We shall see.

Thanks for the complement on the wheels...try very hard not to curb them, but have no control over my wife's parking!
So far, so good!

More comments please....

I like them. On the rears, is the Fuji logo on the back of the pad itself or is there a reusable shim that stays in place when you change pads?

I think directly on the pad...not sure.
I'm not familiar with pad replacement...will know when that time comes!

dragion, did you spray or bursh the actual caliper silver? Did you remove it or do it while still attached?

The decals were installed on top off the stock OEM calipers...I did not paint them.
That is why I decided not to paint them and applied the decals right on them since they were already silver.

Not bad, I had the same kit but in silver, I just used the logos though since there's not much room on our "dinky" calipers
Just food for thought in the future, I've heard people using a metal grind wheel to smooth out the casting marks, then you could paint them gray w/ that black lettering for a real smooth look. If I ever re-do mine I think I'll smooth them out prior to repainting.

Any yes, those wheels are showroom fresh, nice!

Brad if I was to do them again, I would paint them with G2 caliper paint instead.
G2 is an epoxy and when it dries it becomes very smooth... closest to powder coating.
Most likely go with red caliper paint and silver or white decals.

I think the nice looking rims make the stickers look better than what they are.

Nice job

I did the same thing to my 04 G35. I painted the calipers first, but had those decals on for about 3 years and they never peeled a bit. Honestly they looked just as good when I sold the car as the day I put then on.

From my old thread on Driver from my 35. I always thought the Infiniti was a little too big. Excuse the dirty wheels.

Thanks for sharing & confirming about the decals longevity.
I think the decals I ordered are designed smaller to fit the calipers better.

On rough, unpainted, base-model calipers, dragion? I'm sorry, buddy. That doesn't look good at all. Very cheesy. You need to smooth out the surface and paint them first. I'm sure you can find a local shop that would do that for you.

You've seen blnewt's calipers, right? That's what you need to do, man.

Thanks for your honest opinion...I knew this would rub you the wrong way!

In honesty, most people wouldn't even know the difference if it was painted or not behind our "duck feet" OEM wheels...unless they were painted a different color.
This minor project with the decals was just for fun and thought $6 for the decals wasn't any type of loss if I decide to remove them.

Since I'm leasing, painting them isn't an option right now, so I figured why not just place decals right on the bare calipers since they are silver.
As I mentioned before, I would have painted them with G2 Caliper paint and added either silver or white decals if I wasn't leasing...plus I don't have the appropriate place to paint them and can't afford the required down time.

Personally, I don't think they look half bad.

That's true. The split spokes on the OEM rims are pretty thick. The only reason you can see the Akebono BBK on the RWD-Sport through these rims is because the BBK is so freaking B.

It's all good, dragion.
