hey everyone, long time reader and now a new G owner! Traded a 2011 Tahoe for a 2010 G37xS, first impression is that this car is super nice and far exceeds the Tahoe in luxury. So for my first question, should i have gotten the extended warranty when the car has 40k miles?

Hey welcome and congrats. The G37xS is awesome and was my daily driver for a couple years. Infiniti will deal with extended warranties so shop around for a good price.

Welcome and congrats on the new purchase. If it is Infiniti cert'd you can have warranty up to 100k if I am not mistaken. Or like G37andalf said shop around for a cheaper solution. Even though the car is pretty reliable as long as you keep up with maintenance.

I'd run (not walk) as fast as you can away from any aftermarket warranty plan, most will pay a nickle/dime claim but have plenty of fine print to get out of covering anything more than a fan belt
Be sure that it's an Infiniti backed warranty plan.

To clarify, I was just wondering if it necessary/ good idea to get one with these vehicles? I actually declined it but the dealer said I have a few days if I change my mind

I debated on that too when I bought my 09 G37xs with 36k. I got the extended warranty but still wonder if it was a waste or not. However, if anything does go it will be worth it.
