G Down :(

Hey Guys,

I was stopped at a traffic light today and some idiot yelling at his kids in a GMC Yukon XL plowed right into my car and pushed me into the car in front of me.

I'm hoping they can fix the damage and that the car isn't totalled, but it looks pretty bad. I think almost all my aftermarket parts are fine besides an air intake and an oil cooler bracket. My neck is still sore from the impact

and this is his damage:

the world isn't fair sometimes.

Crap. What is it with our Gs becoming targets of oblivious drivers? Sorry about your damages, hopefully there is no structural damage and they can repair it.

I know how much this sucks first hand. My old 2009 G37x was rear ended twice (totaled second time). Besides having a ruined car, the whole ordeal is a huge time suck.

Do insist on diminished value compensation from the at fault party's insurance. Get treated for your neck pains. Even something relatively minor like this can mess you up good.

Good luck with treatment and repairs!

Sorry about your car. And definitely get your neck checked out just in case...

Damn, this trend is getting depressing
Sure hope your neck pain clears up & you get your G back on the road & looking factory fresh ASAP. Damn "other" drivers

Its always sad to see a G in a accident but I'm glad you came out of it okay. If you have a local chiropractor I would try to go see him and have him check out your back and neck just to be on the safe side, especially since you said your neck hurts.

With the damage where it is it might be time to consider the 2010 front swap. If there's a way the insurance would allow it that is.

Sorry about your G. I'm surprised there's more damage on the front with a yukon hitting from the back.

Make sure you get your neck checked out. I hope it all works out, insurance can be a hassle sometimes.
Something about this year so many accidents.

Thank you guys for your sympathies. It's just very frustrating as I finally had built the car more or less how I wanted it.

I did go to urgent care last night for the neck pain and they confirmed I had whiplash but nothing more serious.

@FourT2 that's a good point about the diminished value compensation. I hadn't even considered it, this is my first accident like this. I'll check into that with my claims person tomorrow.

@awais there's more front end damage because initially he just pushed me and my car sort of ricocheted off of his. The damage in front came when he slammed me into a brand new Acura RDX and I collided with that car

Yep, when mine got slammed a couple weeks ago I had it polished, waxed, and was going to get a photo set taken the following weekend Seems like when the car is finally how you carefully planned it out there's some huge bullseye that mysteriously appears that only dip$hits can see
Best of luck w/ the neck, and hopefully you'll get it looking just like you had it, just be sure to order the "bullseye eraser" that they can put in the clear coat, hopefully it'll be dip$hit proof

Glad you're not seriously injured. I'm suprised there isn't more damage to the rear considering how hard you got pushed forward from the damages in your front.

Damn SUVs. The reason I have my G is because my old GTI was accordioned between a Honda Accord and an SUV. The Accord had serious damage, my car was totaled, the SUV...barely a scratch.

I can tell you from experience, I was rear ended and even though my neck was bothering me, I didn't file any medical claim. After about a week and for about another month, the pain was unbelieveable in my neck and back. For some reason, you don't realize just how bad it is until much later.
