Somehow I don't think that's what the OP had in mind when he said, "More comments are welcome."

It was a dealbreaker to me when I got it, that's why I made them agree to take it off if I wanted.

There are very very few used G37 sedans with 6MT out there, this one is in great condition other than the spoiler. Of course I don't want it there. That is why I posted and why I am evaluating solutions.

If I was assured that they could remove it and it would look like it was never there to begin with then it would have already been done.

It's called an OEM spoiler for 2007-2008 G35 sedans.

That spoiler is hideous....get rid of it and don't worry about the body work.

I made the call, and I am going to just have it removed. Hope they don't botch it! I think it will be okay.

Kind of goes without saying, but here it is anyway... you can likely sell that spoiler either here, or on G35Driver.com. Pretty easily too. Although probably not to Financeman or RX Law.

Personally, I think you should keep it for the reasons already stated. But clearly it doesn't work for you, and it's your car.

We'll see if they give it back to me, maybe they will want to keep it since they are doing the work at no charge.

To me it is like having two spoilers. I think it looks dumb. I am not as passionately against it as some of the people here but I agree.

In general, I like things that are stock and would rather blend than stand out.

Good luck w/ the removal, at least w/ the dealer doing it you can make sure it's done right (or they may be replacing the trunk lid after all).
It'll give your G a much cleaner look back there, and if you do consider tinting your tails, give my DIY a look.

there should not be any risk if the dealer promised to do it for free
