Howdy. Just picked up an 09 37x with 40k on the odometer. Fresh oil and new tires and rear brakes. 1 owner car I got from a local dealer. Do I need to do anything to this car?? Things to look for be aware of?? Any comments/ responses are appreciated. btw. I traded an 08 Toyota Porpoise, I mean Avalon in for it. I actually enjoy driving the G!

Cheers!

I just traded my 2010 G37x lease in early at a local Nissan dealer and purchased a 2009 G37x. Same color Black, but with the wheat interior. My 2010 had 26000 miles while my new 09 has 33000. I gained the Nav package which I love and more music hookup options. The 17" rims on the 09 are way better looking than the 2010-2013. I was thinking about buying out my own lease but I would have had 7% Indiana sales tax added to it. Since I was trading a car in on a less expensive one there was no tax in buying the 2009 G, even though it was a lease.

You will love your G. This my 3rd and would for sure have more in the future but its now the Q. Wtf??? Marketing mistake of the century IMO.

Welcome! I used to have a 2009 G37x Silver with Premium and Nav. It was totalled last month, and I got a 2013xS with Premium and Nav.

G 37 is awesome, you will enjoy it. The first thing i would do is give it an extensive detail. Maybe change the fluids if needed. I used Ester oil and my car worked very well, but as you will find out thre is a debate about Ester, so do some reading about it on this forum.

I drove a Genesis with the 385 hp V8 yesterday and it reminded me of an old NorthStar Cadillac. It was well..boring. After driving the G tonight to the grocery store I realized this little car(not so little) is a hell of lot of fun to drive and initial throttle response feels as if its much more than the noted 3330 Hp. Coming from Sportbikes with a 1/10 of the weight and half the Hp of this car, nothing will ever compare acceleration wise; but as those days are over. I think this car will help fill the void the bikes left.

Hey Welcome aboard. You would have fund driving this car.

I got a 2009 G37xS 6 months ago with 25k miles on the odometer. I got ECM and TCM upgrade done within 2months of getting the car to fix the acceleration lag. Car feels much better after getting that TSB done.

You might want to look at getting this TSB done if at all you are experiencing any issues with the 7 AT..

Welcome to the club, these cars are addicting to drive, they just want to be driven, not strolled about town. Have a blast, and any mod plans down the road?
One thing to be aware of is the very "sensitive" paint, really chips and scratches easily. If your car doesn't have a clear bra you might want to consider it, or just be prepared to get sad when you see how easily the paint chips off the car

Congrats on the new car. You will love it. The sheer power and style of this car are impressive.
You will find the 7AT takes some getting used to . Even on the TSB, its still a little off.
Handling is a tad loose if you are used to tighter sport sedans, but deff not a slouch.
I think my first mods will be swaybars and wheel and tire combo.

Also brakes/rotors on these things are sketchy I have found. New pads and rotors may be another thing to look into once your starts juddering.

Thanks all.

I gotta tell ya. This thing is a lot of fun to drive. Im really enjoying cornering as well as the initial grunt of the motor. It "feels" like a sporty car.

If I shift in manual mode the thing shifts violently which concerns me. There is no way that can be good for the car, leading me to keep it in automatic..
