So I just got this used '09 G37xS and am still discovering new things about it... I opened the hood and noticed a sticker on the top right side of the hood. It says that this car is equipped with dei remote starter. Now I have 2 factory key fobs (without a start button) and tried different combinations of lock-unlock but the car did not start. Can anyone help me figure this out? Thanks!

 

the previous owner may or may not have removed the remote start module before selling the car and simply forgotten about the sticker. check to see if you see a module box anywhere under the hood.

I think DEI modules that are linked to the factory remotes are usually paired with the lock button. pushing once locks the car, then pushing again activates the remote start in the default settings. the number of times to hit the button can be programmed to 1-3 times, but defaultly its 1 after you've already locked the car. Don't take my word on this though, its just an educated guess.

 

i took the car to the local dealer and they were not able to get it to work. they looked up with the history on the car and it says that the remote start failed once but the dealer (bedford infiniti) fixed it. i need to call them to figure this out. it would be to get this to work
