04 m45??? Buy or not as extra car?

I'm looking to buy a second car. I have an 09 g37x and an explorer (lowers head in shame) that I use to take my American bulldog out in and for shopping. I need another car and always loved the 03-04 M45. I had a choice between an 04 g and a 04 m45 years ago and bought the g. I have Crohn's disease and the car (g) got repoed while I was in the hospital. Anyway, I found a 04 M for sale that was hit. No airbag deployment but still iffy. I'm looking at the car tomorrow. It has 85000 on the clock. Buy or run?

If its been in an accident I would walk away, mainly because you don't know the extent of the damage and the quality of the repair.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking just want one bad and they are so hard to find. I was planning on bringing a mechanic to see if it was just a fender bender or real accident. I really wish it wasn't hit I'd buy it in a sec as long as it checked out.

Yeah, you could always have a mechanic look at it, but without really tearing the car apart he may or may not be able to tell exactly what was hit and if everything was replaced properly. Also see if the seller/dealer has the paper work from the accident. It could give you a better idea how bad it was.

What would you be using the M for? The G is the sports sedan, the Explorer is for shopping and the dog, so what role would the M be fulfilling? Are you hell bent on the M? The M45 is a V8, and it has about the same hp as your G37x, and would be more expensive to maintain due to the higher cylinder count and gets about the same fuel economy as the Explorer but looks a lot like a 1993 Nissan Sentra SE. I would look at something quieter, more comfortable, and more fuel efficient like maybe a Camry Hybrid, Avalon, ES300, Acura RL, etc.. Is awd, a V8, and leather mandatory? I just think for @ $8K - $10K you could do so much better. If a ballsy V8 rwd car is what youre looking for would you consider a Mustang, Corvette, Chrysler 300 or Dodge Magnum with a Hemi?

If you want a V8 get a Pontiac G8GT. They're amazing cars.

Driver side exhaust manifold, 4 new tires, rear brakes and rotors, alignment, front brakes. The car is listed at 6500. I told them the car has no resale value what so ever and a lot of problems without it being in an accident. Meaning recalls and such like gas gauge sun roof leaking driver seat trunk problems.... He said he would take 5500. I have a good friend that is a Nissan mechanic and is looking into finding parts. I'll offer 4500 cash if not I will walk. The previous owner took somewhat care of it. The interior is in great shape for the year. Just upkeep that has me scared.

It would be a weekend car and hopefully I would keep miles off the g. I always loved the look of the car and always wanted one. Honestly it would be a project car and would keep me from ringing my girlfriends neck at times. I could escape the house and tinker w my problem car. I would get the car for around 5k cash or less hopefully. And it needs around 1500$ worth of work. Dealer quoted 2800 w dealer mechanic rates included. I have a mechanic that will do work for free and that's the only reason I'm even thinking about it. I wish I didn't love the car or I'd walk in a second. I love making stupid choices sometimes. I don't know what to do. In my mind if I pay 6k total and it lasts another 2 yrs or to 110,000 miles I'd be happy.

I would never drive a mustang. Ever. Unless it was a classic or given to me. Even then if sell it. No corvette and 300 and magnums look suspect (drug dealer car) I admit the m45 is a shady looking vehicle too especially since its tinted but its an infiniti I would buy an older q45 (04) but they are hard to find as well. I'd even look into my old g but it would have to have low mileage.

Based soley on this I would go for it. I would ask for $5,000 out the door everything included.

Let us know how it goes.

Take the $4500 and short APPL stock and you'll come out much further ahead financially.
