UPDATE - RWD G37S 7AT w/snow tires or AWD TL 6MT w/ A/S

Well I was really thinking id just get a set of winter wheels and tires, but now I have a TL in the garage.

I'm moving to CT which has a fare amount of hills and I want to drive up to VT for snowboarding. I'm convinced the TL with a set if Contis will perform very well.

And I must say, IT'S GREAT TO BE SHIFTING AGAIN!!!!

I drove a manual for 16 years and then bought my G37s. I wanted a manual G, but I didnt like the gearbox or the clutch. I liked the auto at first, but then it really started to annoy me with the hesitations and delayed shift when using the paddles. I won't miss the 7-AT at all.

And, I really like the TL. The 6MT is wonderful, and the SH-AWD makes it drive more like a RWD. I haven't had any torque steer at all. The sound system is very nice as well.

The deal was good too!

2010 (has Tech Pckg) with 12,500 miles

$29,800
$24,000 trade allowance
7 year Zero Deduct B-to-B Acura warranty
5 year wheel and tire warranty
1.89% for 72 Months
OTD financed ~ $18,100
Payment is only $266

I'm happy!

You should have posted on Acura forum. I don't think there are many TL lovers here if at all.

While the TL may not be this forums cup of tea, I can still offer up a congratulations on the new (to you) car.

As far as a manual goes, I drove one for about 12 years and I am glad I'm through with it with the increase in traffic in the area.

I'd like to hear your impressions comparing both cars after you have had a chance get settled in with the Acura.

congrats on the new car. Now you just need to replace the grill and you will be in business.

Absolutely hate the TL. Acura ruined it.

But congrats on the purchase. Seems like a good deal. Idk if you'll have much luck in the snow with it, especially in VT, but good luck.

I agree, this thread is kind of odd. At 60 posts in 3 years it's unlikely there's a huge crew of like-minded friendships going on here, but I don't know that really one way or the other. Perhaps there are dozens of members who are eager to know what car the OP is driving.

Personally, I respect the TL's build and mechanical design; 6MT, AWD, power and technology. It's really a high quality car, that just happens to be stylistically over-designed. I liken it to wearing a finely tailored suit, accessorized with a big old gold chain.

Congrats on buying an awesome, undesirable car. Someone had to, I suppose.

Congrats! The TL, aside from the exterior styling, is an excellent car. I especially liked the interior quality fit and finish, and SH-AWD driving dynamics.

At almost 30k for a 2010 , with 2014's right around the corner...

Not with my money, but I wish you good luck with the new ride. You can't rag on Acura's when it comes to build quality and longevity. Plus I'm sure it will get you up the mountain a little easier.
