Stuck Throttle

Anyone ever have an issue with their throttle? On about four different occasions my throttle seems to have gotten stuck. After I start the car, instead of the rpms dropping to around 600, they will remain at 1000. This isn't due to a cold start. When I apply the brakes, I have to use more pressure than normal to come to a complete stop. If I let off the brake and let the car roll without applying the gas, the car will accelerate slowly on its on. I got up to 30 mph without even applying the gas pedal. While stopped, it feels like the car wants to take off on its own, like a dog on a leash trying to chase a cat. That is when I normally notice that something isnt right. Shutting off then restarting the engine usually fixes the problem and the car begins to drive normally. I have a stock 2010 sedan with 52k miles on it. Like I said earlier this has happened about 4 times since I purchased the car new in june of 2010, including this morning. Engine wasn't cold because I had just driven home from work, prior to leaving my house again. Doesn't happen often but can be dangerous if an inexperienced driver is driving the car. Anyone else have this issue?.

You DEFINITELY need to take this car into the dealer.

Seems to me there is something off with your throttle body and possibly your pedal sensor.

Try this brother. Get some throttle body cleaner from an autoparts store and clean your **** up good. Also, check to see if there is anything weird about the butterfly opening and closing. Play with it and see if anything looks or feels funky.

Thats my suggestion to you sir.

Normally I'd say bring it in to the dealer, but the answer always seems to be "cannot replicate".

Seems a few others have seen similar issues:

Might give this a shot:

Thanks for the replies. I neglected to mention I had my throttle bodies and injectors cleaned at 35000 miles. The problem was happening before then and still continues. I'm thinking it's more of
an ecu issue because shutting off then restarting the engine fixes the problem.

Crazy timing for this post because I experienced this exact thing last night on my commute home in bumper to bumper traffic in Atlanta(because three lanes of 75 north was underwater)

Its was just like the OP described. The rpm was around 1000 and the car wanted to really get going. At first, i thought it was just my imagination and thinking to myself if this was always like this? I had the a/c on and off with the defrost on and eventually I realized this was not right and shut the car off for a second. After the restart no more problem and the rpm went back to about 600.

First time this happened to me and my car is a 2011 sedan with 18500 miles.

I get somewhat the same feeling when I'm in bumper to bumper traffic a lot. Although not as severe as the OP, but it feels like the car idles higher and i would have to apply the brakes harder to stop, making the drive very jerky and harsh. I reset my ECU and this all went away. I'm thinking it's the stupid 7AT. Not to turn this into a tranny thread, but I have to state, this is the worst AT of all the cars I've owned. Note, I said all the cars I've owned. I'm sure someone will say they have had worse.
