I noticed that too. Wonder if that offers any weight savings or not.

OP, thanks for this thread. Great pics!

Thanks for pics! I also noticed that it sits a lot lower than previous gens. One of my biggest gripes about JDM vehicles is that they sit so high from the factory! I always told myself that if I ever get a EDM vehicle I wouldn't worry so much about lowering it since there's minimal wheel gap.

I would bet the car will be raised when it is released for sale due to possible warranty issues with people driving on a "lower" than normal vehicle. I like the "Malfunction" warning on the dash display with all the lights lit up. I'd be malfunctioning too if I had that many people climbing all over me lol.

Excellent pics, could you tell if the hybrid version on display was AWD? Just curious about the fender gaps

I think the malfunction was because the car was all plugged into the stage and stuff for the lights. Pretty sure it just tripped the cars ecu.

And I HIGHLY doubt they would raise the car because a fear of 'driving too low'. It is still taller than a BMW and all the testing was done at this height. The entire vehicle was tuned to be at this height. Not just gonna lift it for production versions. This is what the production version will look like..

This was a RWD Sport Hybrid. The AWD will probably have a little different bumper design and sit up a tad higher.

Great pics! This will def be a sharp looking car in person.

However, the light blue color washes the car out and was a poor choice IMO. I know dark colors dont photograph well, but a dark silver would have looked MUCH better.

On a side note, I hope Infiniti updates the pics on the website with actual pics of the car! These pics look good, but the computer animated pics on the website don't look right at all. They distort the look of the car.

Cant wait to see the first black Q50....it will make the front end really stand out.

Great pics, really brings out the smaller details that really complete the look. I'm coming around to the styling quite a bit more now, still not liking the grill (I thought I'd like the Ms grill by now but still don't). The headlights look mean and teh side profile is really growing on me. Those wheels look like Infiniti must have brought some new wheel designers on board, they look pretty upscale.
Thanks again for the pics and your own take on everything, nice work

Your welcome everyone. I write blog reviews for an automotive review company and as soon as I can get my hands on one of these i'll make sure to do a write up.

I am very curious about this car because I am thinking on July 28th, 2014 (okay, so i already set a date...) I am planning on ordering a white RWD sport model.. Could seriously see myself driving this car every day. Just being around it and sitting in it, i get the same personality vibes that my current G gives me. I can pretty much feel the soul of the G/Skyline heritage inside this car. It just needs to be unleashed..

Is that when a new powertrain is rumored for release? I'm planning to go ahead and get myself into a 6MT car for another 3 year lease (either the G or an ATS), which means Infiniti should have out whatever is up there sleeve by then, or Cadillac an ATS-V.

I decided not to wait for this summer, as there's nothing new debuting in the Q50 I really care to wait for, let alone have to deal with dealers marking these up or giving little discounts initially / having no inventory.

Am I the only one that is not a fan of the new styling?
The front widemouth grill looks like the car is showing us the O face.
The rear looks too much like the Hyundai Sonata or Lexus IS.

Besides that, without seeing it in person, it is too difficult to comment on the interior.
