Need some help G25

My fiance has a 2012 G25... I negotiated the numbers for her for a G37 sedan, she loved it... her conservative father went with her to pick up the car and talked her into getting a G25 because it was better on gas... Almost made me puke...she is paying a ridiculous amount of money and it has NOTHING in it... Since we are now engaged, I drive that car sometimes and I hate it, it is beyond slow, no blue tooth, no nav, its RWD, its terrible...

What do I do? Can I try to trade it in and get the G37? Any advice?

If that is not the case, should I throw rims on it? Exhaust? Intake? Something to make it feel more like the 37

Damn, that sucks. You can make it look as nice as any G on the road but do you really want to plunk down a bunch of coin on a car that you hate to drive? Tough spot, sure you could trade it but take a huge hit since the 25s never sold well. What's the future father-in-law drive? Maybe you could trade him since he's so interested in the extra 2 mpg the 25 saves
Better luck w/ your upcoming marriage

Her father is an old old conservative man... hes almost 80 and drives a VW bug

She pays around 600 per month on the biggest piece of crap on the road... It really makes me sick thinking about how bad she got ripped off... SAME price as the 37x sport edition, the car salesman said 'oh well u drive a lot why dont we get you the same car just better on gas' and they dont know anything about cars so they jumped right on board with it...

pitiful

maybe i can throw some exhaust or intake on it?

Good Luck with that....

First...depending on how it's driven, I'd be surprised if it was better on gas at all...

Second...600/month? Holy crap...

Third....sure you can put an exhaust on it, intake, etc, etc - you certainly can make it louder, but not much faster. Having said that - I'm sure you can put springs, sways, wheels/tires on it and enjoy the drive a bit more. But you are not going to make it significant faster than what it is...

Sorry - best bet may be to hang onto it for a few years, get married so (hopefully) father-in-law has less influence - then sell it and get a new G/Q.

Wow, what a shame! I didn't realize the g25 only saved 2 mpg over the 37....

How old is she? Why can't she make decisions on her own or at least trust yours?

$600/month, and you've got a G25? That's truly ridiculous. You probably could have leased two, fully-loaded Accords for that price.

I've never read anyone on the Forum who's modified a G25. For that matter, there are very, very few G25 owners here. Most of the people here think of themselves as car enthusiasts (right or wrong), so it stands to reason few would consider the G25.

My advice is to suck it up for a few years, then dump it for something you both really want. Don't modify the car... it will be that much more difficult to sell/trade. In the meantime, it *IS* a brand new Infiniti, so you've got a reasonably nice car with a full manufacturer's warranty. That's not so bad, really.

Go get married, start your lives together, forget about the car and just drive it. There's plenty of time for a better car, and that will be soon enough.

She did trust my opinion.... She is 28, she had no idea the difference between G25 and G37 except the fact the car salesman gave her a car with better gas mileage for the same price..... he ripped her off

We have the money to get a new car, but i just feel like such a putz just eating the cost of that car when she put almost 6grand down... makes me sick, the car has nothing in it

$6k down, no options, no AWD... and you're paying over $600/month on a discontinued, poor-selling model just weeks before the new-model release?

None of this makes any sense.

Sure would be a shame to park it unattended and overnight in a bad part of town.

Private sale may get most of her money back, unless she over-payed. I would be easier on the wallet than returning to the dealer.

if she is the primary driver and likes the car I see no problem.

my wife has driven everything from a BMW, Mazda, Kia, Dodge truck.

I said my part about each car she choose but it was her choice and I only drive with her once a week if that.

Cars come and go...a happy wife = happy life

I would just leave her, if my fiance did that to me...Well she would just be single right now...my two cents...
But talking about the G..Your talking about a smaller engine, for maybe 1-2 miles more on gas mileage...I wouldn't do anything except trying to trade her in...
Then you'll have another car and dropping a ton of mileage on her because of the commute she does on a daily base...which in turn will make no sense...your car payment on the new vehicle might be higher than what you are paying right now...since your G25 will be upside down...

Best bet would be to take it in to the Dealership and see what they have to offer you...
Sorry Bro. Good Luck
