I had the same dilemma, debating between the chrome and the black trim. I ended up getting the high gloss vinyl applied; I knew that if I didn't like it, I could always just go back to chrome. Best decision I made by far.

It makes the car look more sporty and compact, which I think is a plus. The guy who applied my vinyl said it's one of the most common remarks that people make when they get the vinyl done. Chrome draws the eyes outward, making the car look larger whereas the black trim does the opposite. That's something you may want to take into consideration.

i like the black better the chrome sometimes overated. i did it with my silver sedan but plastic dip mine but vinyl wrap is the way to go. also to warn you on the electical tape it leaves all the black sticky stuff on the surface when you peel it off after a long time bc of the heat melts the tape. hopefully its not to bad it cant be taken off but good job with the eletrical tape

Ended up going with the gloss black wrap. Will post pics. For $120 thought it was worth it.

No spacers. I'm running 245/40/19 F & 275/35/19 R

Thanks for all the replies

Don't do that, man. Have that chrome lip professionally painted the same color as the car. There have been a few threads lately where members have done that, and it looks great. Certainly better than PlastiDip ever could.

Yes, dont do Plastidip. To me, its good from far but far from good. Have it professionally painted and it will flow way better with the car setup.

I had my rear chrome lip painted GS and it looks pretty sick.

GL!

Car is a lease - so would need to bring it back as close to stock before returning it. =(

You could always sell/swap for a stock chrome lip.

Let me help you out here.

The chrome spoiler lip, you can buy a new one for 70ish BNIB. But before you buy that you can try paint thinner and hopefully bring the chrome back out, but thats not guaranteed.

If you happen to do the grille, I bought a used grill for $50 on ebay. That I will swap out.

If you dont paint, then do wrap.

I like it but then I don't.

I was thinking of doing this with my GS as well, but I feel like I'd have to do the rest of the car as well - [i.e. the Infiniti logo, the G37, INFINITI, then the grille, and eventually the headlights] - in order for it to look great.

Thanks for mocking it up and letting us see what it looks like on the GS.

I agree. The chrome looks better. The black makes the car look too much like a Dodge (Challenger, or maybe the Chrysler equivalent, not sure, but either way not a look you want to emulate).
