Just my useless 2 cents to add into the thread theme.
Adding a couple more pennies....first time I saw one was on my brother-in-law's Oldsmobile Cutlass - I'm thinking it was late 70's/early 80's? It was simply a vacuum gauge 'back in the day'....I think...

My 2011 G37x with approx 6000 miles on the odometer gets 22.5 MPG city and managed 36 MPG based on the one long highway trip I took last month. Overall, the combined fuel consumption averages out to 23.7 MPG (90% city).

And on that note, this thread is officially dead. Small loss.

His G37 is not an X. It can be seen in his Garage.

I agree, most gas threads are dead before they start. There are hundreds of them.

Small loss is correct.
I had an 07X and I get about the same mileage with my 6MT. After logging my data on fuelly.com for years there is no real noticeable difference for me and the way I drive/drove both of these vehicles.
The one big difference is fun factor

I have a 2011 IPL 6mt and granted it only has 1000 miles on it I am averaging about 21mpg in mixed driving. I usually change gears around the 3000-3500rpm range. (well thats when I am trying to be a gas meizer of course)

Back to the Ford topic for a second, My buddy just bought a 2012 Mustang Gt and while I think they are one of the ugliest and over populated cars on the road, it definetly has some serious playing power under the hood.

Well I recently purchased a 2012 G37x Sedan with Nav and Prem. I have about 700 miles on it and so far have only been able to get 16.4 mgp. I don't know if its due to the break in period but will wait and see.

Gas mileage is very variable anyway, and a lot depends on driving style. I think you have to give it a few thousand miles.

I believe the sticker says the gas mileage can vary anywhere between 15 and 32 mpg. All depends on the driving conditions and the driver.

If the mustang is so ugly, how come I have people telling me every day how much they like my mustang convertible.

Cuz this is 'Merica. Haha

It's a car that evokes emotions and memories. People will always love the mustang. personally I find it nice looking. It terms of the modern American muscle/pony cars looks wise. For me challenger>mustang>camaro.

Let me end with. "America ____ yeah. Lick on these ____ and suck my ____".

Seriously, I got 36 MPG from Austin to Dallas one time (about 200 miles), going 65-70 MPH with a 20 MPH tailwind.
