2009 G37 - Non-NAV - Pandora streaming - solved

I have a 2009 G37 Journey Sedan Non-Nav and I always wondered how to get the pandora streaming to work. I did a lot of research on bluetooth adapters and splicing into the XM radio inputs, but finally went with a very easy and economical solution.

I bought myself a RCA to 3.5mm cable, hooked into the RCA input in my center console and other end to my Galaxy S2 headphone jack. I may not be able to display what tracks are playing, but I can use pandora, slacker or the music saved on my phone . Now, I get to use my IPOD, XM and my phone.DOMO

Note:
Make sure the volume on the phone is set high, so you dont hear much static.
In your car, set the mode to "AUX" and crank the volume. I think this has a different volume setting than the radio itself.
Here is the link for the cable:

wish there was an easy way for 2010+ since there are no RCA input in the center console anymore.

Yeah, they could have eliminated the RCA inputs and replaced them $1.00 AUX input and the problem would be solved as well. I've got a 2010, and while I like my satellite radio and the ability to control my ipod, I would love to be able to stream pandora from my blackberry or iPad.

Don't the 2010+ have A2DP built into the stereo? I thought 2010+ could stream media over Bluetooth.

Mine is non nav and bluetooth only works with the phone. I assumed with bluetooth of any kind I could stream from my blackberry or iPad as well, but when I couldn't, I checked the owner's manual and it says only the ones with nav can stream the audio.

I'd really like to know how you're doing that with a non nav system. What setting is your radio on (FM/AM/XM/AUX/IPOD??) when you're streaming?

Maybe I'm confused on what streaming is. I just plug my I phone into the USB and turn on I heart radio or pandora or tune in radio and the radio goes to aux, I think, and plays through the radio. It even has the station info displayed on the info screen. No blue tooth streaming, sorry for the confusion.

Yes but they won't play via the car USB.

OK...so if you plug an iPhone into the USB, it will actually let you run pandora through the radio? It doesn't work with the iPad, but knowing you can do it with an iPhone is encouraging! I was already planning on dumping my blackberry for the new iPhone when it comes out, and this pretty much seals it. I just thought the USB only read files and had no idea it would actually move data. I learned something as well. Thanks.

I would be inclined to dump the iPhone for the new BB10 phone when it's released this fall.
