Help me decide between a 2009 and 2010

Just sold my 2010 GTI. Looking at 2 used G37x sedans. One is a 2009... The other is a 2010.

Both cars are at the same dealership.

Both cars are the same price.

2010 has upgraded stereo and sunroof. 14,000 miles

2009 has upgraded stereo and sunroof AND navigation. 5,000 miles.

Both 7 speed auto.

The only difference I see is that they have different front bumpers? The 2010 has fog lights and the 2009 doesn't?

Also the 2010 has 2 years of factory warranty left....the 2009 only has one year of warranty left.

So....which one should I get?

Are there any major differences between the 2009's and the 2010's that I should know about that might sway my decision one way or the other?

I'd get the 2010, as much as I like the look of my 09, the 2010 has really grown on me, just looks great from the front. The new transmission update also applies to the 2010s and doesn't apply to the 2009s (at least not yet). This will really help make the 7AT behave as it should (not as clunky and indecisive). Check the last few pages of this thread for more info.

I'd make sure the TSB is applied before taking delivery if you're getting it from an Infiniti dealer.
Both are nice rides but you'll be a little more up to date w/ the 2010, have more warranty as well. For the same price it'd be an easy choice for me

The rear bumpers are different. 2009 is a better design, IMO.

The cupholders are different. 2009 is a better design, IMO.

The front grilles are different. 2010 is a better design, IMO.

The Nav screens are different. 2010 is vastly better, period.

In addition to the above, 2010 center console is different. more refined. 2010 has rear parking sensors. I would get the 2010. Nav is nice, but nothing a $200 Garmin wouldn't do, if not better.

I am currently facing the same dilemma. I really like the updated guauges and navi in the 2010 so I am leaning that way. Also you will have longer factory warranty. Decisions.. decisions..

I also just faced a similar situation. I went with the 09, but my decision was made a bit easier. The 2010 was a base model g37x (not one option I could see), and the 09 was the xs with pretty much every option available. I don't regret going with the 09 at all.

In your case it sounds like navigation is the main difference. Is that worth it alone? Not to me, I'd go with the 2010 for the newer style front bumper.

the cars are fundamentally the same. drive both. give each one a close look. inspect wear & tear, tires, etc. go with the one that fits you best. the minor cosmetic changes are purely subjective - go with whichever you prefer.

Thanks. Just wanted some feedback before I go tomorrow. Sounds like I can't go wrong either way. Navigation isn't important to me...so I will probably go with the 2010. An extra year of warranty is a bonus with the 2010 too I guess.

nav model has a backup camera, that's a feature you may like.

You would think so, but nah...

My wife has that on her 2010 Murano and I don't use it. Still turn my head around to see what's behind me like a moron. I guess I don't trust the camera haha

^ be sure to check the "in-service" dates of the two. it's always possible that the 2010 was an early registered car, while the 2009 could be first bought in 2010, especially since it has such low miles. it is not the model year that triggers the warranty starting - it's the in-service date.

That's actually the better way to back up...you have better peripheral vision than the camera does.

I think what most people don't realize is the back up camera is not intended to completely take over looking behind for you in most normal backing up situations. Like backing out of your driveway into the street or in a parking lot...the field of vision on the camera is not as wide as the eyes.

It's really there for when you are backing close to something...that's when it works best.

Oh by the way, 2010's come with the backup, even without nav.

2010. The updated front facia will provide a little better resale value down the road.

I bought the 2010 today. Not sure what color ir is. Looks charcoal at first....but up close, in certain light, it has a blue look to it. Other times it looks black. What is the name of this color haha?
