Yesterday, I was driving slowly, in a very heavy rainstorm, keeping to the right lane of a 3 lane road, when a pickup started to come into my lane and hit my driver's side mirror. He then sped up and took off. He certainly knew he hit me. The mirror folded against the window and seemed to be okay. When I was able to stop and look, I saw that the mirror cover was gone.
After much searching on line, I found the part # K6374JL00A for the mirror and a price from Grubbs infiniti in Texas of $52.30. Of course, you have to add the cost of painting to this.
I have an appointment for an oil change at my local dealer on Tuesday, so I will ask the price of the mirror cover plus painting. My car is only 4 months old, so it really bothers me, however I guess I was lucky there wasn't a great deal more damage or injury.
By the way, I installed the 2012 map update yesterday. It took a bit over 1 and 1/2 hours. It was like watching paint dry. The cost was $200 from navquest.

Bad idea....I did that ONCE....and nearly had the garbage beat out of me.....call the cops. Not sure how well a baseball bat will deflect bullets............

Got the mirror cover replaced at the dealer yesterday. The cost including painting was $171. Could have been worse. I had an appointment for an oil change, so I didn't have to go out of my way. They gave me a loaner till my car was ready.

That's why I have a pistol and a fixed blade knife on me at all times. If I chase someone down they will be civilized or they will be met with lethal force.
